News app I downloaded a few months ago when it was just called Essentials. Even though I set settings, it sent notifications on stuff I didn't care about, which Ive ignored. Everytime I log in to my phone the app automatically opens. I tried deleting it today-- and it wouldn't delete. It was acting like a built in app. So I disabled it and it disappeared. Can't find it in my apps on my phone, but apparently it's still there because this page said uninstall and will only let me uninstall updates.

This garbage app just appeared on my phone without my knowledge. Despite the title, there is nothing essential about it. At first glance, it's another junk newsreel app that nobody wants, but nobody can uninstall. When you go into app settings and view all of the things "att essentials" is allowed to do, it leans more toward the Spyware end of the spectrum hiding under a newsreel UI. This is real life horror. Terrifying! I need to go back to dumb phones.

AT&T has done it again. I don't know how they keep finding loopholes to be so deceitful! I should have left when I paid off my Note 9, but no, they lied through their teeth and suckered me into another contract. I will pay the early termination fee and be done with their nonsense. Installing this app without permission and having no way to uninstall or block notifications is the last straw. Google really needs to consider adding a "negative star" rating for occasions when it's truly deserved.
