Compatible dash cams: Nexar Classic is the operational app of Nexar's WiFi dash cams: Nexar Beam, Nexar Pro, and other compatible models.
For nexarOne and beam2 LTE dash cams, look for the Nexar Connect app.

Nexar is not just any typical dash cam app. When paired with a Nexar dash cam and an active Nexar subscription, it transforms into your car's safety hub. Nexar automatically records in sync with your driving sessions. Videos are streamed to the app, and significant events, such as hard braking and accidents, are automatically detected using an advanced AI algorithm. These events are immediately saved to your phone and backed up to your private, unlimited cloud storage, allowing you to access evidence whenever needed.

Records as you drive
When paired to a compatible camera, Nexar starts recording automatically, whenever you start driving, and streams video to the app. The app works in the background, so you can use other apps while driving.

Detects dangerous incidents
Nexar uses AI algorithms and sensors to automatically capture dangerous incidents like hard brakes, sharp turns, and harsh accelerations.

Protects your car even when parked
Nexar senses impact and starts recording, even when your car is parked. Watch parking incidents when your phone connects to your dash cam.

Provides instant evidence
In case of an accident, the footage is automatically displayed on the Nexar app, and can also be accessed directly from the dash cam’s SD card.

Backs up to the cloud
All driving incidents and clips that you are creating are automatically uploaded to your private unlimited Nexar cloud account.

View & share your videos
After every drive, you'll be able to see its summary, including the route and any incident clips that were recorded. Share these clips and other data with friends, family, or your insurance provider, directly through the app.

5 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW

Nexar saves what matters most. Your drives are saved to your phone based on available space. Dangerous incidents are automatically uploaded to your Nexar cloud, where they are never erased.

Nexar lets you control how much storage the app uses.

The dash cam connects to the app using its own WiFi signal. You'll still be able to use your data plan.

Nexar won't drain your data plan. The app uses data only after an incident was detected, to back up important evidence to your Nexar cloud account.

You own your data. We never share any individual's data unless they authorize it.

The camera is great. the app software sucks. I've waited hours for videos to load or "sync". I'm missing videos from random days. I have ALL permissions enabled and it gives me a permanent message that says "Allow Nexar to send notifications so we can start recording automatically". I've checked about 297 times; they're enabled. Considering getting a different dash cam. paired with the app, this one's as good as the dinky camera I got in 2003

I'm beginning not to like it. The camera doesn't connect every time like it used to. As soon as I connect to WiFi it begins uploading, and it seems to be running "health checks" more often. Update: Still running numerous "heath checks" has become glitchy because I denied the ability to work in the background and have limited access for when the app is in use. Nexar dev team, there's no reason for you to need location access, background access, and file access ALL THE TIME. Thx 4 ruining the app.

App is fine as far as functionality and features, but it drains battery. I thought my phone had a bad battery but after uninstalling the app, my battery lasts about 25% longer. I was also noticing that my phone wouldn't switch from LTE to WiFi when I returned home. After uninstalling the app that stopped happening. Update: It's been 4 years and I decided to give Nexar a try again and the app still drains the battery. I think it has got worse, I can't even get a full day out of my phone.
