This app is legit. It tanked the urge to use my phone all the time and I no longer feel like I'm missing out on social media. $20 for the pro features is absolutely worth it considering you can't even get 3 months for that price with Feedly. Only suggestion I have for the developer is to make it easier to search up feeds. I used Feedly then exported the file. That's what I recommend until this one gets improved. One of the best apps I've seen in years.

review updated as of Dec 31, 2025: One of the best RSS reader apps I've ever used. The ability to organize my feeds into different folders is really nice. The AI summary feature is also nice. They have addressed previous issues with the TTS not working. I did pay for premium because it is NOT a subscription, just a one-time $20. That's rare in 2025!

This is the way. RSS, as a concept, is supposed to get the noise out of the way and let you focus on reading. SmartRSS understands the assignment. Beautifully simple and exceedingly well executed. It has the features without being in your face and the price is a steal. iOS has several very good RSS apps but Android hasn't been as lucky. Until now.

What’s new

1. Preview sources in the RSS Directory before subscribing — tap one to see its latest articles, then add it to a group.
2. The text-to-speech mini player is now expandable: tap the pill to see the current sentence, skip between sentences or articles, and pause or resume.
