How does POINT work?

FOLLOW CAUSES & FIND NONPROFITS
There are 20 cause categories on POINT (think: poverty, education, homelessness, climate, etc.) and you can choose to follow any, or all, of them. Local volunteer opportunities related to the causes you pick will show up on your feed. You can also discover all the local nonprofits working for a specific cause by clicking into the icon.

VOLUNTEER AT EVENTS
Your volunteer feed is personalized based on the causes you pick, and you can filter by the times you’re free. Find an event you’re excited about? Simply tap "go” and show up. POINT will tell you all the information you need to know on the app, before you arrive.

MEET NEW PEOPLE
See who else is going to volunteer, so you know you won’t show up alone. You can meet new people from your community, or you can share the event with your squad (because hey, sometimes you need to shake things up).

Along with the POINT app, nonprofits and other organizations have access to the POINT dashboard, where they can post events and manage volunteers. More at https://pointapp.org/nonprofits/

Ratings and reviews

This app is so close to being a wonderful useful way to connect volunteers to charities. You guys need to make it possible to filter opportunities by time. Working volunteers need that. That's vital. Second, you can filter by day but the events list only the calendar number, which is less helpful. Honestly if they added a way to sort by time, I would give this app 5 stars, but since that is such an obvious shortcoming I couldn't give it more than 3.

The organization I volunteer with used to go through a very useful local website, but they switched to this app. It is EXTREMELY difficult to navigate on both the app and the website. I have to stop volunteering for this organization because I couldn't figure out how to sign up for anything and the only help they have is an AI that directs you to pages that don't exist and repeats itself.

loved being able to sign up for things easily, finding volunteer work nearby. Just wish it were used in California. I've tried finding other volunteering apps/sites like it and they were a hassle compared. This should be used in all major cities in the US.
