If you opt in to the Gemini app, it will replace your Google Assistant as the primary assistant on the phone. Some Google Assistant voice features aren't available through the Gemini app yet. You can switch back to Google Assistant in Settings.

Was great a few months ago but it's absolutely terrible now. It's gone so far backwards from where it was. Its extremely frustrating now and I regularly install and uninstall again after seeing if it's improved, just gets worse. Interrupt doesn't work and gemini cuts out constantly while talking. Absolutely useless in June 2025! That's without even mentioning the errors, they're also constant, doesn't even know what year it is. I followed advice and burnt my carpet too! Free version now costs!

Terrible! Worked great until paying a subscription. Now it refuses to create videos, to many created apparently. I've made a max of 3 in the 2 months I've had it. Can't really edit uploaded images. It has to create a new one. Doesn't remember anything you've been working on together. Compared to copilot, this is a flop! I expected better from Google, thought it'd be the best. It's actually rubbish compared to other free AI apps. I'm cancelling my £18.99p/m subscription. It's not worth it.

It couldn't keep track of my conversation. It can't remember anything. Basically if you want it to answer a question, fantastic. Want to get it to help you build something? Rubbish. it's just a smarter version of Google search so you don't have to click on multiple links. it's happy to keep my data but in the same conversation thread it could not recall what I told it earlier on in the same thread. more of a designed to answer single questions type of "ai"
