About this app

Google Authenticator adds an extra layer of security to your online accounts by adding a second step of verification when you sign in. This means that in addition to your password, you'll also need to enter a code that is generated by the Google Authenticator app on your phone. The verification code can be generated by the Google Authenticator app on your phone, even if you don't have a network or cellular connection.
* Sync your Authenticator codes to your Google Account and across your devices. This way, you can always access them even if you lose your phone.
* Set up your Authenticator accounts automatically with a QR code. This is quick and easy, and it helps to ensure that your codes are set up correctly.
* Support for multiple accounts. You can use the Authenticator app to manage multiple accounts, so you don't have to switch between apps every time you need to sign in.
* Support for time-based and counter-based code generation. You can choose the type of code generation that best suits your needs.
* Transfer accounts between devices with a QR code. This is a convenient way to move your accounts to a new device.
* To use Google Authenticator with Google, you need to enable 2-Step Verification on your Google Account. To get started visit http://www.google.com/2step Permission notice: Camera: Needed to add accounts using QR codes

All my codes are gone after update. It looks like at some point the app linked to the Google account and I never signed up syncing 2fa codes with it. So, it is now completely empty, brand new offering me a how to use tutorial. I've been using the app for more than 10 years. I have backup codes and use hardware keys as backup for important stuff, but it's still ridiculous.

Hi, we understand your frustration about missing codes. This may be due to the account selected. Please try switching Google Accounts or using "Use without an account" if enabled previously by clicking on your profile picture. This should help you see your codes. For details, see our help article: https://support.google.com/accounts?p=authotp.

It used to be working well but since a recent update the first code displayed is never up to date. I have to wait until the code is updated to be able to log in. I am using this tool extensively at work and it is frustrating to have to wait up to 30 seconds each time I want to log in somewhere. I noticed that the option to sync time has disappeared and the problem might be related to that.

The new 7.0 update has made re-ordering entries even worse than before. If you get too close to the top or bottom edge while holding an entry to move, it accelerates the scroll so fast that you can't actually position it where you want in the list easily. On top of that, if you move your finger too close to the top or bottom you just lose the entry and it drops wherever in the list. Do you guys even test apps before releasing them?
