The best translation app I have ever used. So many useful features and work very well. Con: Does not distinct between male and female forms in Hebrew. Pros: I am traveling on business in Ukraine not knowing a work in Ukrainian - I buy in shops, get directions and all everyday things I need. Including reading signs, menu and products labels using the camera. AWESOME!!!!!!!
I think the app is really helpful. I do travel a bit and find the app really useful. I was reading some of the comments earlier and don't understand people. They get free product which work pretty well but people behave like paid big money for that app and expecting miracles from it. It's free app people, stop complaining
Not so great. I'm in Japan for two months and don't know enough katakana or kanji to figure out what's what. This app gets so confused over the characters and constantly changes what the text means. I'm sure it's great for other languages, just don't use it for japanese
Samsung Galaxy S7 - Not perfect or not working? Even though lots of people contribute in making it's translations better and better(myself included), it still has a very bad translation... And 70% of times, it chooses the worst translation of all the contributing translators. :(((( Can you make it so that we can add(contribute with) better translations in the Android app too. OR MAKE GOOGLE TRANSLATE AN OPEN SOURCE, LIKE WIKIPEDIA.
This is definetly the best word for word translation that I have come across. On the grammar side of things, it could be improved a lot. For example, in Russian, it couldn't decide whether to use ты (you.sg) or вы (you.pl). This could be easily remedied by asking which version you would prefer thus removing the ambiguity in English. Moreover, if, say, I wanted to know the way to say 'the day after tomorrow', zen, it would give it literally, khval mas shemdeg.
This is a major disappointment. There's no way to edit errors in the "Phrasebook." The user must delete the entire entry & start again. Frankly, the app doesn't work as well as the version online at the mobile website. Google should be ashamed to have released such an app. Also, the text window is too small. Again, the design makes it almost impossible to edit errors. The online version at mobile website is better. It's time to UNINSTALL!
