I got my Nexus 6pm from Google play in the U.S. Now I work in Japan. I was excited to see that Android Pay is available for Edy card. However when I open the app, I can only add credit card, no electrical money (電子マニー)option. After keying my MUFG credit card info (Japan credit card), it says that the bank does not participate in Android pay. I searched on-line. It seems that my app looks different from the others. Normally, at the first page, you'll see an "add" button. Tap it and you can select from credit card or electrical money, etc. I also switched my Nexus 6p to Japanese language, however, the same page showed. Any solution?

Google I'm betting on you! Samsung Pay seems to have the leg up with the ability to work with more retailers and legacy terminals. I am betting the Mighty Google can overtake them with something cool. I have a Note 4 and I am happy to have a pay option via NFC. I've only used it once and it asked me for a backup password at the point of sale. Hoping this is a one time verification, otherwise too many steps, swipe to unlock phone, scan terminal and backup password. Would not be good.

Works great, slick app and a free Costa! Started using this with my UK card last week and its great, I love that you see the transactions right in the app so no need to request a paper receipt anymore. If you have no data connection it still works perfectly but shows the transaction when you get back to a WiFi zone. I notice that my phone needs to be unlocked for it to work but I'm happy with that from a security point of view. Got a free Costa voucher included as a thanks for using it this month.

I have a Galaxy Note 3. I was one of the first to use Isis wallet to pay at the stores. Later, the name changed to Softcard. I was happy using my Chase & American Express cards at the stores that had the appropriate equipment. Softcard was bought out by Google Wallet. It does NOT work on the Note 3!!!! I'm not interested in the other features, the ONLY one I use is Tap and Pay! So, thanks Google, you've taken away a perfectly good app and replaced it with NOTHING!!! ......

Great if it works Great if working but highly unreliable. It often tells me please present only one card despite the fact that I do not have any other contactless cards or devices near it. I've tried taking it out the case tried using it in the case (at the start it worked perfectly in the case) but to no avail. It works perfectly sometimes and then other times not at all but confusingly this can be at the same store and even the same day.

Reliable enough, but Christmas Crackers have disappeared So far it has worked well with my S7. Every payment has gone through seamlessly. There are still relatively few cards compatible though. The Christmas Cracker promotion has stopped working with no explanation from Google. Had a £3 Costa voucher, then confetti constantly and now nothing. Still pleased with the app though.

See potential but... Update... just upgraded to Galaxy 5 and tap to pay is enable. Not sure if tap to pay isn't working due to Verizon blocking to promote their Isis, or if it's a hardware issue. The UI is really easy for me. Wish loyalty program feature turned numbers into bar codes like Card Star.
Awesome when it's accepted by the merchant Works very well, especially compared to the new chip system which is slower than swiping your credit card like in the past. It's also more secure than using a credit card since your actual credit card number is never transmitted, but rather just a temporary code. The only downside is most merchants do not use this payment system.
This is the way to go! Works well and is secure I love being able to make purchases using the phone. I love the look that I see from some cashiers when the register rings up the transaction as complete. They tell me "I didn't know you could do that!" I know they have been doing this kind of thing in South Korea for some time now (years) and it is great that Google has brought this to us now. Keep up the good work!
Works perfectly but doesn't feel safe. This app should not work without my finger print on the scanner but it does. As long as the phone is unlocked it works. I believe even with the phone unlocked it should require fingerprint authentication otherwise someone could snatch the phone while you are using it and disable the password and them use the phone to clean out your credit card account.
Now supports Chase Amazon Visa! I just started using Android Pay and it works! Quick & easy! Your phone needs the NFC feature (if your phone was made in the last couple years, it may already have NFC). When NFC is on, and your screen is unlocked, just hold it near an Android Pay terminal and it will vibrate and open the Android Pay app. I think it's easier than getting my credit card out my wallet and I think it processes faster.
Charges after adding the card Wonder why there is a $2.00 charge on my credit card.it says that my card is not surpported yet(united overseas bank)despite everyone using it commonly here. and i was wanted to reconfirm the detail again and try to delete my card, it charge me twice after i key in the cvv?! It doesn't make sense at all!!!if the card isn't surpported why the heck you guys charge me twice???!!!
Very useful, works every time. My bank hasn't provided me a contactless card so this makes a great alternative. Very handy for the times when I forget my wallet too! Have had no issues with use, although it does take a couple of seconds to verify which caught me out first try. Works anywhere they take contactless, not only android pay locations, so very useful. Highly recommended.
Works great but shop name bug has appeared Used since UK launch. Love the convenience but still no ability to nickname bank cards so you can easily tell cards from the same bank apart eg personal a/c and joint a/c. Latest update seems to add a bug - had a couple of transactions where another store/shop/pub nearby has been named as the place I've used android pay. The correct shop and amount are on my bank statement though. I definitely wasn't in the local pub at 7.30am the other morning!! Partner has had the same problem.
Great .Used it for the first time today and it worked great, I like the fact that it tells you straight away that you have made a purchase and for how much. I'm not sure if having the NFC switched on all the time can drain the battery, but if it does perhaps the app can just switch it on and off as you make a purchase.
Unroot my phone After some reading I now realize this doesn't work with any carrier free Xperia z5 compact according to the reviews. My phone is not rooted, nor does it have an unlocked bootloader. What gives Google? Not sure verification process is used, but it's broken! Where are the negative stars?

Hi MArvin. We really appreciate your interest in Android Pay. To help ensure customers' payment information is safe, participating banks require Google to verify the security model on the device. Unfortunately, when a device is rooted, Android Pay loses the ability to make that verification. Our product team is exploring options to address this. Works like a charm Very convenient not to have to dig out my wallet to pay for things. The only hitch I've found is you have to hold your phone much closer to the sensor when using it on Transport for London buses and at tube gates than you do paying for things at cash registers in stores.
Safest Way to Pay I just tried this with my S7 Edge. It works great. The payee never sees your credit card number or security code. It is fingerprint protected so even if the phone is lost or stolen, it can't be used. Too bad it can't be easily used at many restaurants where the server takes credit cards to remote card readers or pay at the pump gas stations. Otherwise, it works perfectly and appears to be very safe.
Love it! So much better than Apple Pay! It was the only thing keeping me with them, so I was chuffed when I found I could switch to Android at last. I wasn't keen at first as having to change the default card to use it to make payments was a little awkward, but now they've fixed it its perfect. I'm now looking forward to more apps supporting it so I can use it to pay for take away food etc
Not quite there yet! Great to pay for small purchases. My main bank does not support it yet though. Still use their plastic card for most things so I get their rewards. Could do with retailers eventually upping the £30 limit. And loyalty cards won't upload so I use Stocard.

Hi Nigel. Banks have to sign up to participate in Android Pay. Once your bank signs up, you'll be able to add your card(s). Please feel free to contact them to discuss their plans for enabling you to use Android Pay. You can see the current list of financial institutions that support Android Pay here: https://goo.gl/UstASN. Works fine I got no problem as long as it says contactless payment accepted in any mercgant. Nice to use it no need to show your card etc etc...especially the PiN ....what happen to Christmas promo? After £3 of Costa drink which i got they are all Confetti...it seems just a promo but no plan to give more but a cup of coffee...
Hypocrisy in Action Google professes to have an open platform, but then specifically disables Android pay on an unlocked or rooted phone due to "security concerns". Might as well go back to an Apple phones if Google is going to intentionally cripple/limit what I can use an unlocked device for. I specifically bought an Android phone to take advantage of the ability to unlock it.
So good it's bad..... Really easy to use and a really good Christmas reward scheme.....But..,.....It makes you spend too much money because it's so convenient and easy not having to carry cash around. After Christmas my account will definitely be in overdraft 😂 I hope I win one of the big prizes to soften the blow of my bank statement in January
Worked well until the last couple of updates. Now doesn't register on till point or my phone. The phone just keeps buzzing at me and the transaction doesn't complete. OnePlus 3. Edit: I'm on Oxygen 3.2.8 - it was working fine on 9th Dec on this version of the OS, but not since 12th Dec (latest Android Pay update). Strikes me that this is related to the Android Pay update and not a "configuration" issue with the hardware as everything was fine before the update!

Hi Mark. We appreciate your interest in Android Pay and we’re sorry you're having a bad experience. Unfortunately, due to a configuration choice made by the manufacturer, users report that the OnePlus devices has a tendency to crash when making a transaction. Won't work My last phone had NFC but it kept saying it was incompatible and wouldn't let me download it. I now have a new phone and although it has NFC and let's me set up Android pay under the tap and pay settings when I open the app it says it can't confirm if I'm even running Android ... I mean really? Please fix

Hi there. Take a look at the device requirements and settings here: https://goo.gl/GQ0PKY If everything looks good but you still experience problems, visit: https://goo.gl/tNCXEt We're happy to help! Wrong shop info half the time. OK, I'll make this simple for you Google. Get the shop location from POS not GPS because you always get it wrong. It's not helpful when you tell me I have spent money in a shop 20m away from the one I am in. I can't even dispute incorrect payments when I return to the shop because you list the wrong shop most of the time.
Was worried at 1st for security Works really well and easy to use. Different account number for it as well with my bank which is good so if any problems do occur I now it's with the app and not my card. Phone has to have a security option enabled but that's a sensible setting.
Would like to like it, but can't Have to give it a miss for now as insistence on PIN and NFC draining my phone for battery juice, it's just not there yet. Will see how it all progresses and would like to return later but for now the obstacles are just too much in my way.
Sony Xperia XZ Using Android pay for the first time, had no issues what so ever. Just unlock the phone and press against contactless reader. Nice to have a virtual receipt and each transaction upto Dec 31st gets you the chance to win a selection of prizes, just using it five times got me a Costa Coffee voucher. Regardless of the Christmas incentive this is easy to use and feels safe. I also feel like a British spy paying for things with my phone.
Sometimes work sometimes dont Firstly, make fingerprint prompts right before/when you touch to pay rather than paying with an unlocked phone which is not secure at all. Secondly, Most loyalty card doesn't work on it and even if I managed to add a card it doesn't work in store and worst part is I am using a google's device. Very disappointed.

Hi there, we take the safety of your information very seriously. You can find more information here: https://goo.gl/clIMGK. We can also help directly here if you have questions: https://goo.gl/tNCXEt. Good job Has not let me down once yet. I wasn't convinced it would be too useful but it's been so handy! Potentially make the rewards a year round thing? Please keep up the good work and improvements coming.
Works great when you can find a business that accepts it I have used Android tap and pay at stores for a long time. Apple Pay markets much better but my experience has been if Apple works Android works. More and more I'm finding terminals no longer work with Android Pay. Fix it!
Dead Simple to Use Super simple to use; love not needing a wallet. The only drawback is you only have a ~45 day transaction history, so you might not want to use this if you need to see transactions from a couple months ago or more.
Poor Security This app requires my security pattern 3 or 4 times before it completes the transactional. Unacceptable. Chase Bank was added, so at least I can use it now, however, Samsung Pay is easily better... MST and swipe-up-from-screen-off are two features Android pay just can't match.

Hey Brandon, thanks for stopping by. Chase will be joining Android Pay later this year. Stay tuned! Faster than the Chip or Swipe Accepted almost everywhere now. I used this as a novelty when tap to pay was brand new and still in Google Wallet. But it was slow and merchants didn't know what buttons to push. Now it's all automatic and I've found it faster than getting my wallet and shuffling cards around. TL;DR - was a novelty, but now it's my preferred way to pay.
Functions well, works by deception Stores your cards offline for later which is great, but coupons and deals are hidden by omission so they want you to dive around like a good consumer to find them. Offers directed at you are based off your Google account so they know what you're going to spend on. Useful app, just be aware how it works.
Un-usable. Depends on updated services that never install App keeps telling me to install updated services all that does is reboot the phone. Wonderful eco system going here let us beta test half done systems. I am running box stock phone should not see this behavior.
Works well. All works very well except it is really easy to delete the reward card, no idea how I did it really but it seems way easier than it should have been! Never mind I still will use my mobile to pay as it us so convenient.
I'm blown away Thinking it was easier to just pay by card, this is much snappier and feels safer. I think this needs to be used more! My opinion on it has changed dramatically. If you're skeptic about it, give it a shot, you won't be disappointed!
Very hit 'n miss This worked fine until my phone received the marshmallow update. Now it doesn't work at all. I've given up trying to use it now as it's just too embarrassing in a shop. It looks like we're a long way off the 'digital wallet'! Update: started to work again but still a little flaky; very hit 'n miss.
