Square Point of Sale is the customisable point-of-sale app that enables you to sell anywhere and in any way your customers want to buy.

Use the Point of Sale app with a Square Reader to allow customers to pay with contactless from all major credit and debit cards or touch-free using payment links, QR codes, Apple Pay, Google Pay or by manually entering their card details.

Issue and track invoices directly from the app. Customise your invoices, set up weekly or monthly recurring invoices from your Dashboard and let customers pay online with a credit or debit card. You can even save their card details on file for automatic payments on recurring invoices.

Connect your Point of Sale app to a free Square Online Store to accept orders for pickup and delivery.

Funds are transferred fast – see money in your bank account as soon as the next business day.

The free Square Dashboard app works in sync with the Square Point of Sale app and lets you view your live sales data, access powerful analytics and other easy tools to help you track and improve your business.

1.6% PER TAP OR INSERT on Square Terminal and Square Register or 1.9% with Square Reader. That’s it. Just one flat rate for all transactions so you know exactly what you’ll get in your bank account. Accept Visa, Mastercard, eftpos and American Express cards all at the same rate. Invoices are free to send and cost 2.2% per invoice paid online.

Ratings and reviews

This app is generally good. No huge changes to the GUI too often. It's kept simple and easy to use. But it is frustrating whenever android releases an OS update, the NFC payment processing on the app is blocked until said update is installed, which requires me connecting to WiFi. It's very inconvenient when I'm out on the road, at a job, and all of a sudden, with no notice, have to dig out the card reader to process payments.

I feel so damn defeated using this app, every update has been a downgrade, either removing featurs, adding bugs, or forcing features that are detrimental. Theres no easy was to remove stock tracking. Can no longer change the order of modifiers, and shuts down when attempting to save every few days, deleating an order and saving nothing. And despite all of that the lack of a better alternative keeps me using it. Thanks for nothing Edit: less then a week after i made this review it got worse

Used to be fantastic, but lately I've been having a lot of problems getting my phone to sync up with the card reader, and have had to manually entre card numbers which takes longer, and have lost some sales. I also cannot load photos into the items categories, which makes text a bit pointless, so I have to just type everything in again manually, other than a few specially items I know well. (I've taken screen shoot to a show if tech can help).
