LastPass Authenticator offers effortless two-factor authentication for your LastPass account and other supported apps. With one-tap verification and secure cloud backup, LastPass Authenticator gives you all the security, without any of the frustration.

Safeguard your LastPass account by requiring two-factor authentication codes when signing in. Two-factor authentication improves your digital security by protecting your account with an additional login step. Even if your password is compromised, your account can’t be accessed without the two-factor authentication code.

You can even mark a device as “trusted”, so you won’t be prompted for codes on that device while your account remains protected by two-factor authentication.

TURNING IT ON
To turn on LastPass Authenticator for your LastPass account:
1. Download LastPass Authenticator to your mobile device.
2. Log in to LastPass on your computer and launch “Account Settings” from your vault.
3. In “Multifactor Options”, edit LastPass Authenticator and view the barcode.
4. Scan the barcode with the LastPass Authenticator app.
5. Set your preferences and save your changes.

LastPass Authenticator can also be turned on for any service or app that supports Google Authenticator or TOTP-based two-factor authentication.

LOGGING IN
To login to your LastPass account or other supported vendor service:
1. Open the app to generate a 6-digit, 30-second code OR approve/deny an automated push notification
2. Alternatively, send SMS code
3. Enter the code into the login prompt on your device OR hit approve/deny request

Ratings and reviews

This is very good. But 2 things should be fixed /added : 1. it lacks sending feedback from within the app (it tries to launch a webmail which does not integrate well with this, as I have refused to set up email on my phone for security concerns). 2. it would be nice if you could use the app to force a logout on all your devices that are logged in to LastPass, in the event your computer freezes (or worse if such freeze were the result of someone taking control of your computer remotely).

Overall good, but without future feature updates I will probably move on to a different 2FA app. With a growing number of accounts in my list, it's very tedious to find the one needed and there are very limited options to organize. The tap and hold to drag is not reliable at all, hard to get it to work. Need better sorting options, by name, date added, recently used, etc. Ability to group sites. For sure needs a search option! Smaller UI options, small icons instead of every code on the screen. Lots of ways to make it better.

It works. Sort of. You need to donthenlpg in exactly as described or you get hours of frustrations without the two pairing, even manually signing into both accounts. Also, I started having errors on my chrome extension saying my extension was out of date and required multi-faceted log in. But, if I tried the login a second time - it worked. To solve this I uninstalled and reinstall both the extension and authenticator and I still get the message. Having to send 2 messages is a pain in the butt.
