The Lufthansa app uses an Android Foreground Service during the sign-out process to ensure that logout operations continue and complete successfully even if the app is moved to the background or closed by the user. This security feature helps ensure that active sessions are terminated and authentication data is removed from the device.

Ratings and reviews

I checked in, but boarding passes don't load. This is the same app that Swiss uses and that one doesn't work either. The previous Lufthansa app wasn't great but at least it worked and I could get my boarding passes. Programmers should please test thoroughly in a live setting. Why publish an unfinished app? Other airlines like Singapore can make their apps work, why can't you?

Subpar UX. Flight is missconnected, and the app can't get me into the chat with that information. Instead, I'm asked for my booking details. I have to leave the chat to get those details. This could be done much better. I also can't even select the booking information from the app. It is not selectable...

Worst app ever. I was booked on Lufthansa by my cruise. I downloaded the app and it consistently crashes. I have to refresh multiple times. When I finally get to login in it keeps you on a login loop, but you never get to see your account. I got it to work once at 2pm PST time when everyonein Europeis asleep. This is such a frustrating app and the website is no better.
