Ratings and reviews

Irrespective of the content, and there are some good writers on substack (if you want to subscribe to them), the app is extremely bug-gy. Windows Web access works slightly better, but the Android app is one frustration after another. Post an article with a serious mistake, you can't edit it on the app, only on the desktop. It's also very slow. It doesn't show up in the view of open apps, 'close all' doesn't close it, what you are typing can be lost if you switch apps...

Substack push the app hard but the app makes it hard to see your subscriptions without pushing lots of dross. At least improve your recommendation algorithm if you are going to do that, I'm drowning in 💩. If I do mark something as 'show less of this' I lose my place and have to scroll all the way back past the same posts again. It's sometimes a bit slow too. I use it only because a few writers I like are on the platform.

hard to navigate, unintuitive and frustrating. installed it as I thought it would be better than the browser version, it isn't. Finding channels and material is not intuitive and the feeds provided by the algorithms just create an echo chamber. I generally don't like installing apps on my devices as I feel the providers generally get more out of it than I do, by way of tracking and data collection. might give this one a little longer incase I get used to it, but I don't hold it much good.
