New update just throws so much useless stuff in. To begin with, everytime that I open the app, it asks for permission to use the microphone (like EVERY SINGLE TIME, EVEN WHEN I HAVE DENIED IT), and also lags when I'm about to type any words for translation. It also sucks that I cannot look for other word meanings anymore, as it was possible in the previous version. I just don't like it anymore. It was too good before.

This app's conversation function was amazing, especially in school settings with so many languages in one classroom. I have a friend that speak Egyptian Arabic and it translated the context very well while it also translated to Russian and Spanish and Dutch at the same time. Unfortunately the conversation function no longer works. It's writes it all in English. I saw many complaints from educators with no response from Microsoft. It's super disappointing it's not supported anymore.

Best translator app. Language packs can be downloaded to use the translator offline. Ironically, the app attempts to use the internet even after a given language is already installed. This is fine when with good signal and connection quality. But when the signal or bandwidth are poor, the translation lags or stops. Under such conditions, it is necessary to turn off WiFi and mobile data, in order to force offline mode. If Microsoft would fix this annoying problem, I'd give the app six stars.
