We are Blue Light Card. The UK’s largest discount provider for the emergency services, NHS, social care sector and armed forces.



With over 3.5 million members across the country, Blue Light Card is partnered with more than 13,000 retailers both national and local, providing access to perks , savings, discounts and benefits that often aren’t available to the general public. It’s our way of saying thank you to those that are there for all of us.



Whether you’re meeting friends for a coffee, upgrading your phone, doing a spot of DIY or planning a family getaway – download the Blue Light Card app to find the discounts you love and access perks with your membership. From offers on all your favourite brands, exclusive updates on new partners and exciting discounts , we’ve even included a virtual copy of your Blue Light Card to help you shop and save whilst on the go!



Our app features include:



• Search function: Available on the home screen. Tap in the details of the store or brand that you’re searching for, and a list of relevant search results will appear. There is also a search by category filter which helps you find discounts and access to perks from similar brands.

• Map search and offer near me: Add in a location or postcode to search for Blue Light Card discounts nearby. Offers will be displayed on a map and in a list view.

• Favourites: Simply ‘star’ the brands you like the most for quick access in a dedicated list.

• Offer redemption: Each offer displays a description to show where and how it can be redeemed with a ‘High Street’ or ‘Online’ label. For offers you are likely to use in person we automatically add a quick access button to display your virtual card.



• Your virtual card: Whenever you need to access discounts on the high street and in-store simply tap or swipe the virtual card in the app. Many businesses will accept this without further ID.



• Notifications: We will send you regular updates about Blue Light Card as well as offers, promotions, and competitions from our brand partners.



• Marketing preferences: Manage the way you want to receive information from Blue Light Card. Simply update your preferences in the app.



To qualify for Blue Light Card, you must be in one of the following services: Armed Forces, Armed Forces Veterans, Ambulance Service, Fire Service, HM Prison & Probation Service, NHS, Optometrists, Police Force, Rescue Services and Social Care.

App and website are absolutely rubbish. Constantly met with bad gateway issues or can't login then finally login to then be met with multiple error messages, it's ridiculous. The app used to be so good I don't know what's happened over the last few months but it's stupid and very frustrating. Update as this was partly written in frustration. The issues mentioned are slightly better now. I'm not sure if this was caused by some technical issues but it was on both phone and website.

When it works, it's fine, but since the last update, you have to keep signing in. Great if you remember your password. When you don't it's difficult to reset the password as the link just takes you back to the previous page to resend a verification email. Providing you manage a successful login, you face delays with trying to first search for a product once completed then requesting a code/QR code.

Hi Ryan, there should be an option in the app under 'Security' to enable biometrics to log in. We would also suggest updating your password via our website page, this method should provide you with a password reset email to your inbox. This had been a really good app until the last update. Logging in is an hit and miss affair. I have to enter my log in details because I no longer have the ability to use biometrics. Then while it's trying to load, it freezes. If I exit the app and relaunch it, I'm logged in. Luckily I don't have this issue with the Defence discount service card, so that has become my go to card. I'm due to renew soon, but probably won't bother.
