The Bike Share KC system is a new part of the Bike Share KC family of mobility services, which operates a unique mix of technologies that extend the fixed-route transit system and gives local residents and visitors a variety of options for getting around Kansas City.
Bike Share KC features:
Smart, electric-assist bikes and classic pedal bikes operating in a hybrid docked/dockless system with lock-to technology that utilizes existing and new bike racks to ensure our devices are organized, thoughtfully deployed, and enhance public spaces.
Bike Share for All Program, ensuring all Kansas Citians have access to bikes – especially those impacted by disparities in mobility, health, and economics.

It's pretty incredible how many technologies it utilizes. Bluetooth, cellular, GPS, QR code what else? Electric assist motor on the bike. I haven't rode a bike in years but thought what the heck? I'm still intact so that's good. Everything worked smoothly including the bike however when I click trip history and try to view details of the trip I just get a spinning wheel indefinitely. I did receive a receipt via email so I feel confident about how much I was charged. Pretty neat service. 👍

Easy to use except I went to a place planning to get an ebike and there were only regular bikes. I had to inspect and look for the differences in the icons to realize the difference and the don't have ebikes at all in the area I went to. Please put some kind of pop up or put it in the instructions how to tell the difference. The bikes places by SM Park were cruisers, not equipped for the hilly terrain. Not fun. Plan to try again downtown with ebike as intended.

Like many others, this app did not work for my wife and I. Downloaded, installed, and uploaded a payment method fine but crashes when you go to unlock a bike. It also doesn't have a way for you to delete your default payment method.
