How are READO recommendations created?
With our artificial intelligence, we analyze over three million book reviews and know the reading motives of over 500,000 books.
To recommend new books to you, we look at your reading lists in the READO app and analyze your reading taste, recommending suitable books to you.

READO is backed by a startup from Frankfurt. Since 2019, the team around the three founders has been developing the READO app for you.

Can I use READO without registration?
Yes. You can use all functionalities without a READO account. However, if you want to save your reading lists or use READO on multiple devices, you need to use an account.

Ratings and reviews

I like the design and the idea of the app but it is really slow to open different things when I click on them. I also imported my Goodreads list but it was only imported with many books missing, dates missing. I didn't find yet how I can change reading dates for example. I like the idea of buddy reading and that you can see what other people think in certain spots. I would love if it gets a little bit faster and that I can add and edit dates.

I love the interface. Very sleek and clean. This is a good alternative for the outdated goodreads app. My only suggestion is to make the app fully caters to English speakers. I would like to read the posts in the feed but they are all in German. So, it would be nice to have a setting where the app will run in English. Thank you, developers!

I like how the UI looks compared to similarly popular apps. English users are obviously not the target market of the app, but a translation button for the posts would be nice. For the books that really can't be searched/found, there should be an easier way to manually add books. Navigating around feels a little bit slow in-app, but the app experience has been good so far. The starting screen has already been changed/improved which is really great. Tysm for developing the app!
