About this app

TTSReader's goal is to be a super easy to use app that reads out loud written content for people who like to listen. For people who like to read while having their eyes and hands free. Reads out loud plain text, text files and web pages. Uses iOS's natural sounding voices.

To start simply tap the 'Play' button. That's it.

Main features:
1) Editable text
2) Import web pages
3) Shows images
4) Multiple languages and voices
5) Set reading speed
6) Tap anywhere to set reading location
7) Caches & bookmarks reading location in the most recent 5 documents, so you can continue listening where previously stopped, for up to 5 files.
8) Accepts shared text from any other app.
9) Accepts shared web page urls from your browser.
10) Internal browser to search and play web pages.
11) Import text files from device storage.
12) Highlights and follows the sentence currently being read, so you can follow easily along.

Contact us - we'd love to hear from you. Shoot us an email to admin@speechlogger.com or visit the main menu to find our feedback form.
Tap the top pencil icon to edit the text.

Tap the top flag icon to select the language to read and tap 'done - select voice' to switch between different voices (eg male/female) within that language.

Tap the other buttons to learn what they do.

Important tip
You can share any text and website with TTSReader, directly from any browser or editor. On any app actually - you can simply tap 'share', then select TTSReader from the list. TTSReader will immediately import the text or web you shared with it - so it is a super convenient way to listen to any text on any other app on your device.

Best tts app with one huge issue: Whenever you press the edit text button, or leave then reenter the app and, in the editing mode, press enter to insert a linebreak or you simply press on the text, your cursor is instantly moved to the beginning of the text. This means if you left the app to copy some text which you whished to paste into the app, you can't paste it without being moved back to the beginning and are forced to scroll all the way down. This gets tedious very quickly.

It has worked great for me and the voices that come along with it are good. My only complaint is on sites that require accepting of cookies or had a pop up prompt get stuck in a loop of loading the existing data cache instead of the simple page refresh and being able to select to accept cookies again. But a quick uninstall and reinstall does fix it at least for the selection pop up to continue listening

If I switch back to the app after 5 mins it loses my ENTIRE document! So annoying if I want to pause. It will stop playing the instant I leave the app, and worst of all, if you press play it plays on repeat with no sign of stopping! I fell asleep listening to an audio book and it woke me up at 5am after it played all night. Also, you can't save any text files and title it yourself. They are all titled the creation time. Also, I HATE the editing. There is an edit mode which has default text.
