The Blue Bikes Nola App gives you access to bicycles in your area — unlock and pay directly from the app and get going.

The Blue Bikes Nola App also shows a map of neighborhoods in our service area. These neighborhoods include the French Quarter, Tremé, Central Business District (CBD), the Lower Garden District, Central City, the Marigny, Bywater, Mid-City, and Bayou St. John.

Blue Bikes are sponsored by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana and serve as a seamless extension of the existing public transit infrastructure here in New Orleans.

Disclaimer* only used this app once. It was easy to set up, although they asked for a LOT of info. Finding bikes, unlocking bikes, and relocking bikes all worked. As far as cost, pretty cheap and enjoyable way to go through the city, it you're on the right roads. I don't like the $10 hold and then it refunds you the difference. That's a weird system. Going to make sure to check my bank statement later.

I use it enough that I got the monthly membership. Solid system, but there are some flaws: - Some areas with stations will have no bikes within walking distance. - Bikes that appear on the app may not actually be there (if you're headed toward a bike, it's best to see at least 2 on the app) -Bikes will sometimes not have the pedal asisst despite being charged (this issue isn't as common as it once was.

I applied for the discount program and the service took way more money than it was supped to. I already paid the required fee. Then I scanned a certain bike and it unlocked another bike so I had to figure out which bike it was. I had to go through my credit card to get a refund. I didn't even get a chance to ride the bike at all. The new updated app seems to rip people off at least it ripped me off speaking for myself. I will never use this app again. 1 star rating is generous it deserves 0*
