ArcaneChat Private Messenger

ArcaneChat

About this app

ArcaneChat is a private messenger and secure chat app for people who want digital privacy and independence. Anonymous sign-up, end-to-end encrypted messaging, zero ads, and no phone number required.

• Secret: No one can know you are using the app or discover your profile, only people you show your QR or share your contact invite link with can contact you. This also means you are free from spam or scam calls from strangers.

• Anonymous: We do not ask for your phone number, email, or any personal data. We know nothing about you.

• Confidential: Every message and call is end-to-end encrypted. Not even we can read your messages or listen to your calls. We also have no access or control over the list of groups and channels you are in.

• Interactive Mini-Apps: Elevate your group messaging with synchronized, in-chat tools. Play games, create shared shopping lists, split bills, and use a rich text editor with your group in real time. All data inside mini-apps is end-to-end encrypted and they work even while offline.

• Secure Audio & Video Calls: High-quality, encrypted voice and video calls keep you close to family, friends, and colleagues, even while traveling.

• Multi-Profile: Manage different identities effortlessly. Separate work or club activities from private life.

• Resilient: Offline-first and designed to work reliably on slow or poor connectivity (2G/3G/weak Wi-Fi) when other messaging apps fail to connect.

• Sovereign: Your profile lives in your pocket, not on a corporate cloud server. You truly own your data.

• Open Source & Decentralized: Fully open-source and auditable. Built on decentralized protocols. Interoperable with Delta Chat and other chatmail clients. To check out our source code, visit https://github.com/ArcaneChat

Ratings and reviews

This is an amazing app for messaging. NO id's required, no phone numbers, nothing. Operates, through servers all over the world, not just that one big tech server. In fact, no BIG TECH involved at all ! Developed in Europe !!! It is resilient to outages. If one server is out of action all just keeps working via another selected servers. All of this in the background, you don't even have to know. Sent text to individuals or groups ! Make phone calls ! Just brilliant.

It would be great if you could add the following features to the app: Pinning messages in groups, Mentioning people in messages, Creating topics in groups, similar to Telegram

Best decentralized secure messaging app to exit surveillance and chat control. Easy to synchronise between devices. End-to-end encryption using best in class GPG and autocrypt. Audio and video calls supported. Free stickers. Great for kids without SIM card because no identity tied to phone nor email. ArcaneChat support many new and advanced features not yet in DeltaChat.
