About this game

Grim Tides tries to blend tabletop RPG vibes, familiar dungeon crawling and roguelike mechanics, and a classic turn-based combat system into an accessible and entertaining package. Because of its attention to written storytelling, detailed worldbuilding and abundance of lore, Grim Tides can be similar to a solo Dungeons and Dragons campaign, or even a choose your own adventure book.

Grim Tides is a single player game and can be played offline. It has no lootboxes, energy bars, overpriced cosmetics, content locked behind endless microtransactions, or other modern monetization schemes. Just some unobtrusive ads, permanently removable with a one-time purchase, and completely optional goodies for those who wish to support the game and its development even further.

I have officially finished all of the content. Grim Tides, a fun yet lacking experience compared to it's predecessor, Grim Quest. While the story was still excellent, the customization of my character felt limited. Once you've locked into your weapon type (slashing, stabbing) you can only learn the abilities linked to that type of weapon. With forcing us to only use 1 ability tree it severely limits creativity. Also, the ship combat is just a no. Overall, loved the game, but it's no Grim Quest.

Love the effort put into this. I love the colors/designs and general feel of the game. Even the music is nice. The progression feels really solid as well. EDIT: Final boss fight is insanely difficult and borderline impossible for the build I made. I spent all my gold mixing and maxing new spells to try too. Unfortunate because I put several hours into the game just to get to the last fight. Have since uninstalled and will move on. Extremely disappointing finish.

a good game, especially glad they try their best not to flood with ads. chosen to purchase the ad removal because I like the game and thought there are as few ads as possible I liked the game enough to probably try multiple builds so it'll make things easier in the long run. also, I NEVER spend money on games if I can avoid it, so that speaks to how much I appreciate the game.
