If Observa rejects an observation, is the data still sent to the customer?

Never. At Observa, we only want to pass along high-quality data to our customers, so we discard data from rejected observations. We only reject an observation if the secret shopper didn’t follow the instructions correctly. Right now, more than 90% of observations are accepted.

How this app got 4+ star rating is beyond me. This is FREE labor for the places you have to "observe". Everyone who's been in a grocery store knows how narrow the isles are, yet they expect you to get full photos of specific sections and organize the section for the required photos. They don't offer additional pay for travel. 98% of your photos will be rejected, but they will still use the photos provided to profit for themselves. I see a lawsuit in the works, they'll show up under a new name

They sometimes reject your work even when every instruction was followed. You can appeal it, but makes you feel like if one little thing didn't come through on their end, possibly for technical issues on their end, you may not be paid at all. At least they respond to emails, but definitely should know you're risking working for free if they don't approve a job. The app clearly states that but just know what you're getting into. Otherwise a decent micro-gig app if you need an earnings cushion.

They don't pay you for your work. they find something they can say is wrong then not pay. I was told I didn't capture all the prepackaged meat section because it was only 4 pics instead of 7. I explained it to them that was the whole thing and they just kept answering back with I didn't capture it. Also they tell you it takes 20-25 minutes. With Customers and employees in the way it's more like 2hrs. So if they did payout it would be about 6 bucks an hour. plus gas
