About this app

You can securely access your organization's wireless network after easy configuration using the SecureW2 JoinNow app. JoinNow only needs to be run once, then you'll be able to connect to your organization's secure Wi-Fi network.

How does it work? There are two steps that occur when you do the one-time setup:

The app will automatically download your organization's Wi-fi configuration settings and install them on your device.

Your device will connect to the network through a secure, encrypted connection.

From there on, you don't need to do anything beyond leaving JoinNow on your device. You'll be able to effortlessly connect to your network.

Please note:

Deleting the app (or deactivating it through an "app sleep" feature, as seen on Samsung devices) will remove the Wi-Fi configuration settings, interrupting your Wi-Fi connection.

Google's Android device policy is the reason why you are required to set a screen PIN lock once your device is configured for connection to secure wireless networks. This is not a SecureW2 JoinNow policy. Your screen PIN lock must be enabled, otherwise you may experience issues with connectivity.

The app doesn't save your credentials very well. I frequently have to re-input my id and password so I can connect to the wifi at my school. The connection sometimes drops while I'm using my device and sometimes after going to different parts of campus, and usually once I regain connection to the wifi I either have to disable and re-enable wifi or re-enter my credentials. The wifi dropping in and out is my school's fault, but why can't the app just reconnect once I grab the signal again?

Hi Erik, Thanks for sharing your feedback. JoinNow App configures the device for WiFi connectivity and after configuration is done; it does not manage the network connection. You should be able to connect to the network by selecting it under the WiFi settings of the device.

The app used to be hit or miss when connecting, but I haven't had problems in a while. Yes, it's annoying to have to use this app and be unable to remove it, when you can use native certificates on iOS. I really do hope Google fixes it. But I do find the app's increasing number of self-aware messages pointing out the absurdity of this process pretty funny.

Tried setting up my university nrtwork with this and it did not work. No network settings changed. After entering info, app indicated I should get a save settings prompt, but that did not show up. Instead I was just taken to the main choose network screen. In the end, downloaded certificate and set it up manually. Don't know if it is an app issue or a university configuration issue. Tried on a second device and again found installer to be totally no help, not working.

Hello M Liang-Gilman, We are sorry to hear about your experience with the app. I have not received any email from you since the last time you posted. If you can send us an email from the app with the app logs attached, this should help us identify the cause of the issue and help to fix it. Regards SecureW2. (Edited from the previous post)
