The new updated app is, unfortunately, nowhere near as good as the previous version and, in all honesty, not sure why there needed to be an update. UI is much more cumbersome, data is almost always inaccurate, and always asks for location data which is unnecessary. Think the MTA wanted to make this more robust and do much more than it really needed to... Bring back the old version, please. It was simple and did what we needed it to do and did it well.

The upgrade is practically unusable. You have to wade through menus to get the train or bus you want. When you get there, the scrolling, 9 times out of 10 doesn't work, so you keep swiping your finger on the screen until it decides to move it. Then when to get to the stop you want , you have to keep polking it until it decides to open, most times you hit the stop and it shifts to the other direction. I miss the old version, where you plugged in the bus number and it went right to the route!

Thank you for your feedback. We fixed the scrolling issue in a recent app update. We also improved the navigation by adding the ability to choose your preferred default tab. To do this, just tap "More" and then "Default Tab." If you choose the "Status" tab, you will see your favorite lines and routes first whenever you open the app.

This app doesn't open if you have no Internet connection. It says: you're offline, try again or notify me. It's galling because after a half decade or more of development it finally features: offline maps, for when you're in a train between stations, experiencing an issue, and need to reroute without a connection. But you can only use that in the off chance you'd opened the app before being underground without a network. 🤬 Still happens; feedback sent with screenshot (Play Store blocks opening)
