My bpost app: all your parcels and registered mail at your fingertips

■ Never lose track of a parcel
With Track & Trace you can view the status of your parcels, including those delivered by other companies like PostNL, DPD and DHL, whenever and wherever you like. Choose which parcels you want to receive status updates for. Add the email addresses to your online shopping apps. Your bpost parcels will then automatically appear in the app.

■ Choose where we deliver
Not at home at the expected delivery time? Let us know via your delivery preferences where we can deliver your bpost parcel. Straight to a Pick-up point or Parcel Locker is the quick, green option. Or have it left with a neighbour or in a safe spot around your home.

■ Set your delivery preference for registered mail now
Let us know in the My bpost app who is authorized to receive your registered mail when you’re not home, or choose to have it delivered directly to your letterbox.

■ Sending a parcel?
Quickly and easily create a shipping label to have your parcel sent within Belgium or abroad. Simply find a Drop-off point in your area. On your way to a Parcel Locker? Book your locker hassle-free up to 2 hours in advance. Your parcel will be delivered within Belgium the next working day.

■ Need to send registered mail?
Creating your own shipping label for your registered mail item right there in the app. Print it out or go to a Post Office or Post Point and let them print it. Affix to your envelope and pop it in the post!

■ Open Parcel Lockers from your smartphone
Parcel Lockers without a screen, which you’ll find near supermarkets, stations and office buildings, can be easily opened via the app.

■ Status notifications.
Choose when you receive notifications for parcels and registered mail.

■ Pay import costs securely
Expecting a parcel from outside the EU? Then pay the import costs securely via the app. This way you can be sure that the request is coming from bpost and protect yourself against phishing.

■ Find Pick-up points & Drop-off points
With 3.100+ Post Offices, Post Points, Parcel Points and Parcel Lockers, you’ll always find one close by.

I occasionally purchase items from Belgium as an international customer, but the app seems to require a local address to sign up (which I didn't know before giving them my information). I suppose it's partly my own fault for not considering that but I just wanted to be able to track bpost's own tracking numbers.

Final update to my review as I'm removing the app. Currently the app dedicates half the screen to ads for their postal 'services', and takes a full 20 seconds to refresh. Making it slower than using the website. 'Faut le faire' as they say. Also still refuses to show packages with a valid code which are not yet in their network (at customs for example). So tools like 17track are so much better. Goodbye incompetence!

Before the latest update this app was already an unintuitive mess of an app to navigate. But now, after the latest update, that added 3 times the amount of buttons (most of which redirect you to already existing pages) while REMOVING vital functionality. I used to be able to return a package using a bluetooth locker, but now this is no longer possible (which I found out after calling their support center). How/why do you triple the amount of buttons while removing existing functionality??
