The TrainTime app provides a one-stop shop for Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad customers, where riders can buy and use tickets, plan their trips, track their trains, and more.

• Buy tickets with Google Pay or credit/debit card. Split payment between two cards.
• Plan trips with departure times and transfer details before you travel. You can also search for two origin and/or two destination stations at once.
• Save your frequent trains for easy access
• Share trips with family and friends so they know when to expect you
• Follow your trip with real-time GPS tracking, updated every few seconds
• See the layout of your train and how crowded each car is
• Chat with a customer service representative for either LIRR or Metro-North within the app

I've been using this app for a very long time and a quite disappointed. The app works great when everything is running smooth.I would have given the train time app a 5 star, but I gave it 2 stars because of the apps/system and the misunderstanding of customer service. When the system was down, the app took my money and didn't even hand me a ticket, and that's unfair. It felt like a scam and then blocked my access to my account because I took back my money stolen! And proceeds to say I used them!

usually good, but for some flipping reason despite the app being up to date keeps showing no trains between stations when I go to buy tickets (this isn't me choosing incorrect stations to travel between, its ones I've previously bought tickets between. I'm going through the 'previous' tab.) the limited transfers of the app between different devices is frustrating- better hope you don't need to use a temp device due to it being in the shop, or need to reset your device, because that counts.

metro app has gone through great upgrades over the last year. not that there is much choice in what to use and it's expensive but it's worth it. Back to the app, very functional, no bugs thus far and it tracks trains, times, has quick slots to pay, it's great. Guess my money got a good designer paid. At least I'd like tot hink...
