Ratings and reviews

It's always a crapshoot when you reach out for tech support, and I'm very happy to report that the Handcent team has been absolutely fantastic. I had a problem sending a text as well as needing to get my password reset. They gave me clear directions and were very responsive, sometimes getting back to me later that evening. As far as use, I love the app and the ability to customize. I would be great if they offered a delete text option without needing to go to a menu, but this is minor.

What a grave disappointment, and Herculean waste of my time. I've spent so much time customizing this app only for it to fail over and over and over again. I've been in touch with customer service repeatedly, and while they USED TO BE responsive, that didn't help the chronic issues with sending photos (are you kidding, in this day and age?), and now the texting screen disappears randomly, among other issues that I'm just too tired to help them fix. 3 stars is a gift on my part. Look elsewhere.

I am upgrading my review from 2018. I have been using this app for over 6 years, and I still love it! At one point, early on, there were a few glitches, but they are long gone. Handcent does everything I need and want it to do from blocking spam to sorting messages. Backups are seamless in the background, and you can easily choose what stays in the cloud vs. your phone and / or transfers to a new phone. There are tons of options and features to choose from to customize your experience.
