About this app

Spok Mobile™ is a critical messaging/alerting application for use in healthcare, government, and public safety environments. Requires a subscription /connection to a supported Spok system.

Spok Mobile simplifies communications and strengthens care by using smartphones for your hospital’s secure, critical communications: code alerts, patient updates, test results, consult requests, and more.

This intuitive application links to a powerful communication system where you can send messages/attachments to smartphones and other devices.

Users require all file access permission to upload the attachments in the app to share them with the hospital staff. The file upload feature is one of the most critical features of the app as users need to share key information like images, code alerts, patient updates, test results, consult requests, etc.

There is no way to stop the bloody app from making noise from the lock screen. Have to unlock the phone and then go in to message to stop the sound. Finally, after stopping the sound, the message goes away and I have to REOPEN the app. Bah, the app was written hastily and with very little quality control. 👎 Thptpprpttpt!

I am just starting to use this app instead of a pager for working in a busy emergency department as an emergency physician. Android 14 AT&t FirstNet Samsung 22+. The pages seem to be coming through okay, however the major problem is the only way to turn it off when I'm not working is to force close. Turned off everything in the app's settings and also in Android app permissions and I still get beeps all the time.

Update: Looks like after a year, they have finally fixed the android volume issue. Such speedy service, thanks. /s App ignores the phones volume settings. It's either silent or full blast. Extremely disruptive when I get a page at night or am in a room with a patient. There are options for volume in the settings but they are all grayed out. In addition it changes the ringer volume of your phone to full blast every time you get a page. So all future notifications from any app or text also become extremely loud Almost all the negative reviews are about this, but nothing is ever fixed or addressed.
