This is the most useful app to have installed on your phone for when you need it. When older people compare now with when they are young, they never account for inflation. "I only made $2.70 an hour at my first job" sounds like they had it bad until you pull out the app and ask them what year that was, then calculate that it's the same as nearly $13 in 2024, well above minimum wage. Same for things like the cost of housing. It's an excellent tool to have on hand for when you need it.

While fine for a general idea, it isn't the most accurate. Having tested it against known inflation amounts, it seems to be about 5% off. Having said that, this is a good app for getting a general idea of inflation, and it works great. I would recommend this app. Note: I did use a currency converter to adjust from GBP to USD, then into the inflation calculator in some of my tests.

This is a great app for this purpose, but the app description and screenshots haven't been updated in two years or more. It can be kind of off-putting to see that it only goes till 2022 in the app description, and only till *2014* in the screenshots, but it does actually go till 2024. I will upgrade this to four stars when the description is updated, and five when the photos are updated.
