This application is a quick and easy-to-use tool for assessment of acute pain in cats based on changes in facial expressions. This tool underwent rigorous scientific validation and it was shown to be valid and reliable for the evaluation of pain in cats with different medical and surgical conditions, using both image- or real-time evaluation.

The Feline Grimace Scale App teaches users about this tool and facilitates real-time pain scoring in cats. It has several drawings and images to facilitate learning, including a practice session. This App can be used by any person.

Ultimately, the Feline Grimace Scale App aims to improve feline pain management across the globe by increasing awareness, providing education, and facilitating the practical assessment of acute pain in cats.

Catching my cat still and not engaged while he's awake is the only difficult part, lol. It's hard to get a read on him when he's always into everything, so I started taking pics of him on the rare occasion I catch him daydreaming. Add a pic & send a pic never gives any indication it worked tho. Other than that, I think it's a splendid app, and the FGS itself is such a helpful tool that a lot of brilliant ppl obviously put a lot of hard work into. TY! =^ ^=

Cat welfare- this is going to help you interpret what's happening. Easy to use, and fairly well set out. Local vet reccommended checking out this app, & it's been very useful. In addition to the assessment section, there's a basic learning guide. There is writing, of course, but because the scale is guided by comparing pictures, some may find it easier to use. Love this app! And love the research you are doing. I am from Ecuador, love cats, and have some contacts with animal rights and rescue organisations who would greatly benefit from this app. However, I couldn't find a Spanish version of it. I have experience translating scientific texts between the two languages, and I would be very happy to volunteer translating the contents, so you can add an option to a newer version of the app.
