About this app

We are Blue Light Card – the UK’s largest provider of online and in-store discounts for frontline services including the emergency services, NHS, social care sector and armed forces.

We have recently welcomed early, primary and secondary school teachers into our community. Teachers provide essential services to society – often going above and beyond the call of duty, as we saw during the pandemic.

We exist to show our appreciation for our community and their service and sacrifice. Giving them access to the discounts they deserve, and unique member-only experiences.

We have the largest selection of discounts available in one place, from the daily coffee and weekly groceries through to exciting days out and the family holiday. In 2023 we helped our members save over £330 million. And we offer value beyond discounts, with access to exclusive member events, competitions and free tickets.

We’re dedicated to giving back to our members who dedicate much of your lives to keeping us safe, healthy and supported.

Quickly and easily find discounts to suit your shopping needs straight from the main screen. From discounts on all your favourite brands and exclusive updates on new partners and exciting offers, we’ve even included a virtual copy of your Blue Light Card to help you shop and save while out and about!

Highlights:

- Search - all search features are now in a single screen. We have a new 'Search by Phrase' option, 'Companies' showing an alphabetically ordered list with quick filter and 'Search by Category' which helps you find companies and offers grouped together.

- Near Me - we have made this even easier, which is hard as it is one of the most used features. There was always a list view, but it was hard to spot - so we’ve made it really easy.

- Favourites - now much easier to use and simple to understand, you can even change their order.

- Offer improvements - we have tweaked how we display each offer, for time limited offers we show an expiry caption that is easy to understand, for all offers we colour code and show the type of offer like High Street & Online. For offers you are likely to use in person we automatically add a quick access to your Virtual Card if you have one.

- Redeeming online offers - we have added a mini-browser with back and forward buttons so you do not accidentally come off the screen entirely (we understand how annoying that can be).

- Blue Light Card - you can get one of these directly inside the app and for members that have one we have a virtual card inside the app.

- Notifications - we will keep you informed of select offers, plus when we need update you about your account.

- Suggestions - we really value your ideas and your help in pointing out issues we may not yet be aware of - so we have added features in the app for you to quickly share them with us. This really is the fastest way to get things fixed or improved.

There used to be a section with categories that I could access pretty fast. Food, entertainment, hotels, etc. No matter what I do, I cannot get into it and have to just search by company name or location now. If I search by location, not everything comes up. I'd much rather the categories appeared to narrow things down for me. Either it has been removed or it is hidden. I've tried so many ways to get this and it wo y appear. Ruined my experience of the app, being stuck to promo homepage deals.

The app was very good at first. it was very easy to navigate with all the product type sections available to search. But now you can not search product types via the individual headings as there is none, ie pets kids clothes toys ect. There are a few highlighted companies on the home page, others than that, you have to type each company in separate to see if they accept blue light cards which means you miss out companies that you do not know of. Add the product headings back please 🙏

Sadly, I have not been able to launch the app successfully. After uninstalling it multiple times, resetting my phone, etc. I came to agree that the fault is with the app. It either goes white blank or, after putting in login in details, it fails to load and goes back to the log-in page. The issue seems to be for Android users only as the app worked perfectly fine on iPhone. Very disappointing.
