LinkContour turns your Android device into a private Wi-Fi survey workstation. Create a scaled room, optionally attach a floor-plan image, then record real signal observations at the places where you use your network.
Build a spatial survey
- Start from a blank room with real dimensions or attach a floor-plan image.
- Choose a nearby Wi-Fi network and place measurement points on the drafting canvas.
- Record signal strength, frequency, band, channel, and access-point evidence at each point.
Understand coverage
- Read an interpolated contour map built from your saved measurements.
- Use explicit dBm bands and confidence labels instead of relying on color alone.
- Inspect nearby channel pressure across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz observations supported by your device.
Evaluate a change
- Keep separate survey passes before and after moving a router or changing a channel.
- Compare average measured signal with bounded, plain-language findings.
- Export a survey as CSV or a visual PDF report to a destination you choose.
Private by design
LinkContour works fully offline. It has no internet permission, no account, and no cloud sync. Floor plans, SSIDs, BSSIDs, measurements, and survey history remain in the local app database until you delete them. Android protects Wi-Fi scan results with its precise-location permission; LinkContour uses that permission only to read foreground Wi-Fi observations and does not read GPS or collect measurements in the background.
Results vary with device hardware, walls, interference, network configuration, and the way a survey is performed. LinkContour provides measurement evidence for practical troubleshooting; it is not a professional RF certification tool and does not change router settings.
