About this app

Briskwire™ moves any file between two Android phones using nothing but a screen and a camera, or a back-to-back NFC tap. No accounts. No cloud. No internet permission. Works in airplane mode. And now QR transfers can be end-to-end encrypted.

Built for the moments and places where Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and cellular aren't an option — backcountry, secure sites, airplane mode, no-Wi-Fi conferences, clinics, vaults.

TWO OFFLINE TRANSPORTS

• ANIMATED QR CODES — the sender displays a fast sequence of QR frames; the receiver's camera reads them. Works on any device with a screen and a camera.

• NFC TAP — hold the two phones back-to-back and the file streams directly over short-range radio. Faster for small-to-medium files when both devices have NFC.

Pick QR or NFC on every send. NFC stays visible but greyed out on devices without it — QR works everywhere.

NEW: END-TO-END ENCRYPTION

Choose plain or encrypted on every QR send. The receiver shows a one-time key code; the sender scans it; both phones derive a shared secret (X25519 + HKDF) and seal the file with AES-256-GCM. Matching 6-digit codes on both screens rule out a man-in-the-middle. Keys live in memory for one transfer, are never stored, and never leave the two phones — no server, no key escrow. Nobody, not even the developer, can decrypt your transfer.

WHO IT'S FOR

• Hikers, climbers, outdoor crews — GPX tracks and route plans past LTE
• Field engineers, surveyors, inspectors — configs and handover notes offline
• Journalists, lawyers, researchers — contracts and sensitive PDFs, now end-to-end encrypted
• Travellers in airplane mode — boarding passes to the seat next to you
• Anyone inside a vault, exam room, audit floor, or no-Wi-Fi conference

DETECT — UNIVERSAL BARCODE SCANNER

• Reads QR, Aztec, Codabar, Code 39/93/128, Data Matrix, EAN-8/13, ITF, PDF417, UPC-A/E
• Locks onto every code in frame at once — no centring required
• Group scans into named sessions; rename, delete, or export to CSV
• Runs fully on-device via ML Kit — no cloud lookups

SMART ANDROID ACTION HANDOFFS

Decoded codes don't just sit there. Briskwire™ reads the type and hands off locally via Android Intents: URL → browser · phone → dialer · email → mail app, pre-filled · SMS → messaging, ready to send · geo → Maps · vCard/MeCard → add to contacts · VEVENT → add to calendar · Wi-Fi QR → Connect pre-fills SSID and password in Android Settings. No third-party APIs called.

GENERATE TYPED CODES

• Pick a type: Wi-Fi · Contact · SMS · Email · Calendar · Geo · URL · Text
• Briskwire™ builds a valid QR, Aztec, Code 128 (and more)
• Tune format, size, and error-correction level
• Save the image, share, send to a printer, or regenerate
• Fully offline — nothing is uploaded

PRIVACY POSTURE

• Briskwire™ does NOT declare the INTERNET permission. Android cannot let the app reach a server, ever.
• Optional end-to-end encryption with ephemeral keys — nothing written to disk
• No accounts. No cloud. No telemetry. No analytics. No crash reports.
• Three permissions only: Camera, NFC, Change Wi-Fi state (just for the Connect action on a scanned Wi-Fi QR)
• Privacy policy bundled with the app — nothing fetched online to display it

BUILT WITH CARE

• Five languages: English, Polski, Українська, Español, Deutsch
• Force dark mode, or follow the system
• Interrupted send? Resume in one tap; scan progress survives restarts
• Integrity-failure transfer sheet with one-tap retry
• Guided tour you can replay any time
• Works on Android 11 (API 30) through Android 16

WHY BRISKWIRE™ EXISTS

Most "simple" file-transfer apps quietly phone home, ask for permissions they don't need, or fall apart the moment the radios go off. Briskwire™ was built for when the network is gone, banned, or simply not an option — and for people who never wanted their files in a cloud.

If two phones can see each other or touch back-to-back, Briskwire™ works. That's the whole bar.

Briskwire™ — file transfer through the air, literally.
Encrypted offline file transfer via QR or NFC. Scan & generate codes. No cloud.

Data safety

Safety starts with understanding how developers collect and share your data. Data privacy and security practices may vary based on your use, region, and age. The developer provided this information and may update it over time.

What’s new

New Features:
- Encrypted transfers: scan the receiver's key code, then compare a 6-digit security code before opening the file.
- Privacy policy explains offline encryption policy.
