Ratings and reviews

Lessons move too quick. They introduce a dozen new vocabulary words but don't go in depth for any of them. You see a new word once and then it moves onto the next sentence. That's the other thing, they are only introduced in sentences and there's no way to listen to an individual word's pronunciation when doing an exercise like the fill-in-the-blank. These things make it really hard to remember anything unless you put in extra effort to have a notebook and review on your own.

I've been using the app now for a little while and it is extremely helpful but the one thing which I really don't appreciate is the fact that when you're just having a conversation, the AI constantly speaks back with you in English. I need full immersion. I need to have full German sentences and then help when I need it rather than hust constant English. I almost regret purchasing the app now and wish I would have stuck with Sylvi which offers strictly German conversation.

All the 5 star reviews are pre update (April 2026), they've completely changed it now and it's very similar to other language apps, with fill in the blank style lessons. The conversations also don't follow on from what you've said, unlike the original. There's more errors in this one too so it needs addressing. I've reinstalled superfluent classic, which I highly recommend.
