About this app

KanBear is the native Android app for your KanBear boards — a fast, private Kanban and task manager, made and hosted in Switzerland.

Your personal tasks are encrypted and decrypted right on your device with zero-knowledge AES-256-GCM encryption, byte-compatible with the KanBear web app. The only permission the app asks for is internet access — no tracking, no advertising, no analytics.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Create, edit and check off tasks — name, description, priority, deadline and column
• Organize with tag filters (include / exclude) and collapsible column groups
• Show or hide archived tasks
• Render Mermaid diagrams from your task descriptions — fully offline, no network needed
• Keep working on the move: changes you make are queued locally and synced automatically once you're back online

PRIVACY BY DESIGN
• On-device zero-knowledge encryption for personal tasks — the same scheme as the web client
• Internet is the only permission — no location, contacts, camera or storage access
• No ads, no third-party tracking, no analytics SDKs
• Screenshot protection keeps task content out of the app switcher and screenshots
• All traffic goes over HTTPS to your KanBear cloud in Switzerland
• Signed release, shipped after a full security review

• Use your KanBear cloud access token or your email and password
• Or open the built-in demo mode to try the app locally — nothing is uploaded

REQUIREMENTS
• Android 8.0 or newer
• A KanBear cloud account on a paid plan (Professional, Teams or Enterprise) — the app works with your existing KanBear account and its cloud data
• An internet connection for syncing
