Follow the Climate Avengers BIG ACE Expedition in June 2025 uniting 110 Changemakers on a mission to the front lines of climate change: the Arctic.
BIG ACE stands for “Bear Ice Glaciers — Arctic Climate Expedition”.
Each participant brings their unique expertise and passion to amplify the voices of the imperiled polar bears, walruses, glaciers, and other Arctic treasures threatened by global warming.
BIG ACE serves as a melting pot of diverse individuals — spanning cultures, ages, talents, and disciplines — united by a shared commitment to ocean conservation. Guided by experts, these changemakers will experience firsthand the Arctic’s breathtaking beauty and fragility and collaborate to inspire global action.
Distinct from conventional polar expeditions, BIG ACE stands out in its commitment to accessibility, mobilization, and inclusivity. By leveraging a variety of multimedia platforms, including films, essays, music, art exhibitions, educational materials, and more, the project endeavors to engage a wide audience, instigating meaningful conversations and spurring action to safeguard the planet for future generations.
Organized by the Ocean Geographic Society of OceanNEnvironment Ltd aboard the MV Sylvia Earle, an expedition ship operated by the carbon-neutral company Aurora Expeditions, BIG ACE pays homage to Dr Sylvia Earle, founder of Mission Blue and Time Magazine’s first Hero of the Planet.
