About this app

See your pitch and volume live as you speak. Voice Analyst records, measures, and tracks your voice for speech therapy, voice training, and singing — and lets you share recordings and statistics with your speech-language pathologist. It is used in speech pathology clinics, research centers, universities and homes in more than 180 countries, with over 12 million recordings made.

Measure your voice
• Watch a live pitch meter and volume meter — graphs of your pitch (in hertz or musical notes) and your volume as you speak or sing.
• A high-quality voice recorder: record your voice and play it back alongside its pitch and volume traces.
• See statistics for any recording, or any part of it: minimum, maximum, average and range for both pitch and volume.
• Set pitch and volume targets and see instantly when your voice is inside them.
• Zoom in on any part of a recording, organize recordings by date, and add notes.

Made for speech therapy
Voice Analyst gives clear visual feedback for voice therapy, in clinic and at home:
• Loudness programs such as LSVT LOUD for Parkinson's disease — practice between appointments with the volume targets your therapist sets.
• Visual feedback during therapy for dysphonia, dysarthria, vocal fold palsy, muscle tension dysphonia and other voice difficulties.
• Practice support for voice rehabilitation after stroke or brain injury.
• Remote telehealth sessions — record at home and share the results with your speech-language pathologist (SLP).

Voice training
• Transgender voice training: clear pitch feedback for voice feminization (MTF) and masculinization (FTM), with targets for the range you are working towards.
• Singers: check the notes you are hitting in real time and develop your vocal range.
• Teachers, actors and presenters: monitor your voice and how you use it.

Share your progress
• Email recordings and statistics to your therapist or vocal coach.
• Export statistics to CSV for reports and progress tracking.
• Save recordings to your device, or to Google Drive, Dropbox and other cloud storage.
• Works offline — record and analyze anywhere.

Why choose Voice Analyst?
• One-time purchase — no subscription.
• Winner of the Digital Health Award (Medilink SW Healthcare Innovation).
• Listed in the Parkinson's UK tech guide.
• GDPR compliant — no personal data is collected, and recordings stay on your device unless you choose to share them.
• Nothing is uploaded to our servers — clinicians stay in control of client recordings.

What users say
"I've been using Voice Analyst with my transgender clients. It is incredibly user friendly and provides great visual readings of frequency as well as an instant analysis of pitch range and mean. My clients can use it in session and some have downloaded it to work with at home."

"Fantastically easy to see where your pitch is, to set target ranges, to make and analyze recordings, and to export and import recordings. I can't imagine working on my voice without this app."

Voice Analyst is not a medical device — it measures and records your voice so you and your therapist can see your progress; it does not diagnose or treat any condition. If you are concerned about the quality of your voice, see your doctor and ask for a referral to an Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialist.

Recent update prevents audio clips from being opened. App crashes on attempt. edit: Devs fixed the issue and notified me within an hour of reporting it.

The app works fine for my needs. My speech therapist recommended it to me. It's simple to use. I initially thought that there was a 30 second recording time limit but eventually realized that the app would stop recording the moment my phone locked itself. It's working fine now.

Glad you like it! We'll also look into why your device isn't keeping the screen on whilst recording as it should be.
