Ratings and reviews

Game Coaster has served me well with Dungeon Maker for ten years. They have only gotten money from me three times: DM+DLC, and now. For all the effort they put into one of my most beloved games, I am fine with paying the price for an early access game. I know they will meet my expectations. And if not? Oh well. But I doubt that to be the case. The game—however rough it is around some edges—is already fun to me. It can only go up from here.

Banger after banger... First and foremost, yes, the art is gooner bait. Second and onward, the gameplay is always slightly new, the play style is different, it's not pay to win or pay to skip, it's just fun. There is meta progression, but the natural progression in this one just feels like you're unlocking features rather than needing to skip a grind. That might still happen later in the game, but that's just kinda normal for rogue lites.

4 Stars right now because there isn't as much content as their other games right now, but I will definitely be changing my rating as times goes on. The game boasts great pixel art, animations, and music/sfx that are on par with Dungeon Squad, if not even further beyond. The core concept is great! The rogue like elements are very unique and cant wait to aacend the Trial difficulties. The purchase options do offer ways to skip a TON of content for the game though. Unsure how to feel about that

What’s new

[v0.4.2 Update]
- Trap Adjustments: AoE traps now deal half damage on a successful save, and single-target trap cooldowns are reduced to 1.
- Increased the base damage for the 'Titan's Iron Fist' and 'Arcane Railgun' traps.
- EXP System Tweaks: Increased base EXP for Essences/Blueprints so non-combatants and facilities can also gain EXP.
- Removed unnecessary 'AoE' tags from certain abilities.
- Fixed a persistent issue where the '?' button in the Event screen was not functioning.
