The next trip is now easier to plan. Using the CFR Călători for Android app you can quickly see trains to your future destination.

Buying tickets online is very easy. You need a CFR Călători account that you easily create with your email. Select the departure and destination stations and select the train with the hours that fits for you. Choose which class you are travelling to and the number of passengers. After you see the transaction price, you will fill in the passengers' first and last names. At the end, enter your card details and complete the order. You will receive in the app, by SMS and email an Id (ticket identification number) that you show to the conductor at checking tickets. Simple!

I can't access the website or the app from outside Europe. I cannot create an account and also cannot check the train schedule in the app Update: I emailed as instructed, and received a reply almost immediately, saying there's nothing wrong with the app 😕 However, I tried again a week later, and it worked!

Easy to use, you can buy tickets, view the train map and choose your seat, you can even cancel or edit the details (haven't tried this yet, so not sure about the policies), you can see if the train will have any delays. The app is sending also notifications ( 1h before your train is scheduled and another one close to the arrival at your destination). It would be nice to have the option to choose your seat even with less than 24h in advance but overall the app is great.

App works great for booking and buying tickets as well. Train conductors are trained to scan the ticket directly from the app, so no printing is needed (ticket can be sent as pdf on email too, for offline usage). The status of "your train" live works great, accurate. I don't know if the app is great indeed, or I am just amazed that such app is working ...normally, for a transport company which isn't known for its stabilty or quality of service.
