The Electric Circuit is the largest public electric vehicle (EV) charging network in Québec. The Electric Circuit mobile app gives you access to many services. For example, you can:

• Use Electric Circuit charging stations as soon as you have installed the mobile app.
• Take advantage of the Electric Circuit members’ rate (registration required) or pay as you go, by credit card.
• Transfer the funds needed for your charge into your Electric Circuit account.
• Program the automatic transfer of funds using the credit card linked to your account.
• Add your vehicle’s make and model to benefit from an enhanced charging experience.
• Visualize the closest charging station on a map to check availability in real time and see the usage fee.
• Find charging stations closest to you or find those near a given location.
• Start a charging session at a station.

I had no idea about Electric Circuit until I found an EC charging station near my lodging place in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. I downloaded the app, added $10, and used it to charge my car immediately. I have found that I can use it to charge my car on any charging station in at least Quebec including those belonging to other companies. This is not the case for ChargePoint which failed to start charging at some stations while EC app succeeded. It would be ideal if they could charge the actual amount to a registered credit card instead of requiring adding fund first with $10 as the minimum.

I drove from Burlington, Vermont and needed to recharge my Nissan Leaf before driving back. Overall, using one of the charging stations on rue Saint-Laurent was great. The app worked well to find chargers in Montreal and see which were available. Faster charging would be nice. It took almost 8 hours to bring my half charged battery up to a full charge. That said, thank you, Circuit Electrique for helping us make the transition!

App seems good so far. It would be cool to have a "queue" feature where you can claim the next charger and you have x minutes to start you session or lose your place in line. Just an idea.
