About this app

Charge in as little as 30 minutes on the nation’s largest public DC fast charging network. The Electrify America app lets you find a charging station nearby, charge your EV, and manage your charging session. (Level 2 chargers also available at some locations).

You can use this app to:

• Get directions from your current location to a selected charging station location
• Become an Electrify America Pass or Pass+ member

When you sign up for a free Electrify America Pass membership, you can use this app to:
• Check the availability of a charger in real-time and get notified when a charger becomes available
• See charger details and save your favorite charging stations
• Start and stop your charging session from your phone
• Track your charging status easily while you shop or dine nearby
• Get notified when your compatible EV reaches your desired state of charge
• Pay contact-free from your phone
• See your charge history and email a receipt

Electrify America’s powerful DC fast charging stations support all CCS (SAE Combo) and CHAdeMO-compatible EVs. You can also use the app to find Electrify America’s Level 2 chargers (with J1772 connectors).

Ratings and reviews

When using dark mode, cannot see road numbers on the map. When coming back to the app after driving to another station, the map still shows the previous location and won't start a charge until you restart the app. When cancelling the Plus plan, there's no indication that the request was completed. Otherwise the app works for the most part.

I signed up for a subscription. Everything was fine until I needed to charge my car super early in the morning. I accidentally fell asleep at a location that has 10 stations and I was the only vehicle there at 3am. I woke up an hour after it was done charging accruing a $22 idle fee. My charging session was only $19. I called to see if there was any way I could get a courtesy adjustment. They said next time to set an alarm. I quickly cancelled my membership. I've been using EVGo & ChargePoint.

Probably the most expensive charging station in the county at .64/kwh. The app also requires you leave $5 in no matter what, so it feels like an ethics issue. Also, if you drop below a certain of amount of $ it automatically loads more money even if you don't want to. There is no way to turn off that feature. It IS fairly easy to use though.
