About this app

Quick Search TV is a web browser designed for Android TV and Google TV screens. It focuses on simple search, readable pages and remote-friendly controls so you can use the web from your couch.

Built for TV browsing:
• Search the web on a large screen.
• Move through pages with D-pad, focus and remote controls.
• Use back, forward, refresh, home and menu actions without touch input.
• Open and manage tabs in a TV-friendly layout.
• Access downloads and common browser tools where supported.
• Use PIN or protected access flows when available on your device.

Quick Search TV is useful when you want to check websites, search information, open web tools or manage basic browsing actions directly on a television. Controls are arranged for remote navigation instead of phone gestures, with clear buttons and focus states for big-screen use.

The app works with compatible Android TV and Google TV devices. Web page behavior, downloads, media playback, keyboard input and protected flows can vary by device, Android version, WebView support, permissions, website rules and remote control hardware. Use only websites and downloads you are allowed to access.

At least with flavour of Android TV, the experience Neptune provides when using a bluetooth keyboard is infuriatingly atrocious. Any attempt to type registers the first keystroke, and brings up the on-screen keyboard, at which point is basically ignores any further text input until the virtual keyboard is closed. Unfortunately, "the first keystroke" really means the first keystroke, so while you can do a type letter + back dance to type in lower-case letters and numbers, if anything requires the use of the shift key, just pressing shift causes the keyboard hijacking and lack of further progress.
