Downloaded for free through at&t unlimited plan so it's hard to hate free. I did give it an extra Star for that reason. Should really be 2*. It's not very stable, even crashing at times. Videos completely restart after pausing or putting device to sleep. The app doesn't properly bookmark your place, often starting a few episodes back from where you actually are. Badly needs a fast forward and rewind feature. Trying to find your place on the timeline by tapping is primitive. Please take serious consideration of these criticisms.
You completely broke this app with this last update. This app refuses to stream on Chromecast on demand movies from any movie channel without continually buffering, stuttering or freezing. Unable to play any movie from any channel on Chromecast for longer than 3 to 5 Seconds without freezing, buffering. Same issues streaming live channels.
Fire stick version seems to be worse. Change channels and it crashes. Quality of pictures goes constantly changing from clear to pixelated. Seriously considering YouTube TV and leaving ATT all together.
Man Google Tv is only $35 a mnth with unlmtd recording DVR. I'm switching to them. This is bs! What's up with all the buffering all of a sudden? Always at the end of my show or movie to were I'm forced to start from the beginning all over again when I'm watching something on demand and how I'm in the middle of watching a show it goes to Commercial and when it comes back from commercial the show starts from the very beginning again also?? I'm paying $84 a mnth for this bs. Uninstalling and cancelling my service
Absolutely love the idea of streaming live satellite channels. Our family of 3 live in an apartment, so hooking up a dish is out of the question, and cable is too expensive. Whoever thought of streaming live satellite channels, and (right now, some) local channels, THANK YOU! Out of the 4 or 5 live streaming services out there, I strongly believe "DirectTV NOW" is hands down the best, and cheapest, no matter which channel pkg you choose. Yeah, at first DirectTV was off to a rocky start to get their streaming service, "DirectTV NOW," off the ground and running smoothly. But those days are far behind. DirectTV NOW continually focuses on making their product better, in all aspects of what the app is capable of (as of Dec. 2017, beta testing has begun for their new cloud-based DVR feature). *Just a forewarning: A fast connection speed with your Internet Service Provider is essential. Anyone with minimum download speeds of 50mbps and minimum upload speeds of 3-5 mbps, will have no problem streaming live TV with DirectTV NOW (plus, they offer A TON of movies and TV shows, free on demand). And casting to a device, like "Google's Chromecast," to watch DirectTV NOW on your t.v. is simple and easy! There is a free 7 day trial, so you might as well try it. I guarantee: Streaming of live network channels, or on-demand content from services like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc., will very soon be the end of satellite dish services and cable television. *Lastly, as anothet word of caution: Live streaming uses a lot of data, so if your ISP has you on a data cap plan, you might want to see if that cap can be increased (depending on how often you use live streaming services). To give you an idea, we have a family of 3, and data is streaming in this home for at least 6 hours a day... straight. Were capped at 500GB a momth, and we have yet to go over our limit. And we use A LOT of streaming data, and wireless router based data for our phones, computers, tablets, etc. Just something to keep in mind if you're considering giving DirectTV NOW a try. I hope you enjoy the app and service as much as we do.
For the amount of money being spent to have this application, it freezes quite often. Quite a bit of errors.
Performance improvements, increased stability and bug fixes.
