The Japanese Language Teaching Proficiency Test Pass is an unofficial learning app for smartphones that allows you to review basic knowledge and practice reading comprehension and situational judgment in preparation for the Japanese Language Teaching Proficiency Test. It includes 720 questions and explanations, designed for those studying to become Japanese language teachers, those who want to organize their knowledge in training courses or self-study, and those who want to review during commutes or short breaks. No login or account creation is required.
The app covers eight areas: Society, Culture, and Region; Language and Society; Language and Psychology; Language and Education; Language Structure; Educational Practice; Intercultural Communication; and ICT/Copyright. You can choose the area you want to study and work on short practice sessions of 10 or 20 questions. You can also select multiple areas together to review areas you find difficult.
You can choose to focus on Exam 1, Exam 2 (reading comprehension and situational judgment), or a comprehensive practice combining both. The in-app text practice includes 100 questions covering Exam 1, 40 questions covering Exam 2 (reading comprehension and situational judgment), and 140 comprehensive questions. These figures represent the number of practice questions and subject area distribution within this app, and do not reflect the official number of questions, question distribution, or a complete reproduction of the actual exam. While Exam 2 includes questions presented via audio, this app does not record or distribute audio; it is limited to knowledge, reading comprehension, and situational judgment that can be confirmed through text.
After answering, you can review the question, the four answer choices, your answer, the correct answer, color-coded correct/incorrect answers, and key point explanations. Premium users can read detailed explanations and explanations for each answer choice, reviewing not only why the answer is correct but also why the other choices are inappropriate. You can choose to display key points, detailed explanations, answer choice explanations, and related information in the settings screen.
In the learning results, you can check the number of correct answers, actual number of answers, and the correct answer rate (based on actual answers). The analysis screen allows you to review your learning progress by subject area and connect your weak areas to future practice. You can review incorrect answers and questions you've registered as difficult, repeating learning and review at your own pace. Selected subject areas and display settings can be used for future learning.
