About this app

NetTools is a complete network diagnostics toolkit for Android — the tools a network engineer reaches for, in an app that is fast, private and honest about what it can measure.

Every number in NetTools comes from a real measurement on your device. Nothing is estimated, nothing is faked, and anything Android genuinely cannot provide is labelled as unavailable rather than filled in with a plausible-looking figure.

WHAT'S INSIDE

• Internet speed test
Download, upload, latency and jitter, measured against Cloudflare's public speed-test service. Warm-up is discarded and the headline figure is the median of many samples, so a single stalled moment does not define your result.

• Ping
Real ICMP echo requests with per-packet round-trip times, packet loss and jitter. On the rare device whose kernel refuses ICMP sockets, NetTools falls back to timing a TCP handshake — and says so on screen, because a TCP connect is not a ping and should never be presented as one.

• Traceroute
Every router between you and a host, with round-trip times and reverse-DNS names resolved as the trace runs.

• DNS lookup
A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS, TXT and SOA records, queried directly from the resolver your network actually hands out — so the answer explains the behaviour you are debugging. Long replies are automatically re-fetched over TCP. The server that answered and how long it took are always shown.

• Reverse DNS
The host name registered for any IPv4 or IPv6 address.

• IP information
Every address bound to your device, per interface. Your public address is fetched only when you tap the button, shown once, and never saved.

• Wi-Fi and network information
Connection type, metered status, link speed, frequency band, signal strength, gateway and DNS servers — plus whether Android has actually confirmed the network reaches the internet, which is the difference between "connected" and "working".

• Port checker
Whether a TCP port on a host accepts a connection. Open, closed and no-response are reported as three different things, because they mean three different things.

• Subnet calculator
Network address, broadcast address, masks, usable host range and address counts for any IPv4 block. Works completely offline, including /31 and /32.

• History
Your last 100 results, kept on your device, never uploaded.

BUILT TO BE TRUSTWORTHY

- Works offline. Every local tool answers with no internet at all.
- No account, no sign-up, no tracking of what you look up.
- Your results never leave your device.
- Dark and light themes, both designed by hand.
- Small, fast, and free.

PRIVACY

NetTools stores your results only on your device. Host names, domains and IP addresses you enter are never included in an ad request. The app is free and supported by ads; see the privacy policy for what the advertising SDK collects.

NetTools requests location permission only for one thing: Android 8.1 and later hide the Wi-Fi network name from apps that do not hold it. It is requested in context, from the Wi-Fi screen, and everything else keeps working if you decline.
Speed test, ping, DNS, Wi-Fi info and more. Real measurements, no guesswork.

What’s new

First release on Google Play.

Nine network tools in one app: speed test, ping, traceroute, DNS lookup, reverse DNS, IP info, Wi-Fi and network info, port checker and subnet calculator.

- Results are kept in a local history, no account needed
- Hand-built light and dark themes
