Requiring a INTERNET based account for LOCAL administration is perhaps the dumbest thing I've seen in a while. Good security practice is to set up the router offline then connect it to the internet. Previous versions of the app allowed using a router password but the latest version does not. Couple that with the fact that the app cannot find my router to add it to the now REQUIRED internet account makes the app completely useless.
More than 2 years have passed since my review in 2015, and they still have not fixed this buggy app. It does not reset the router, the network map is incorrect, and communication is unstable. You should support better your product Linksys!
Can't add my smart router (AC 1200+) on initial setup! I'm connected with internet on my router but the app keeps telling me that the router can't be found
App will not work unless connected to wifi... Wtf!! What if im no where near wifi/hotspot? This app use to be able to connect with just mobile data. No i get "sorry cloud access is not available right now". What stupid update
Great interface. Easy to set up routers since its self explanatory through this app. I jave the Velop had to C.S for two hours trying to get it to work and we finally did. FYI the Velop is not as easy to setup as advertised.
*locally connected* router admin login still unavailable for Velop!!! I DON'T WANT ANY ASPECT OF MY ROUTER'S CONFIGURATION TO BE CLOUD "MANAGED." I don't trust your cloud any more than I do google's. PUT LOCALLY CONNECTED LOGIN BACK INTO THIS (CR)APP FOR *ALL* LINKSYS ROUTERS... (Netgear's Genie app can see, but not manage, the locally connected Linksys router every time!)
