About this app

Point your camera at a houseplant and Clover tells you what it is. Ask for a full diagnosis and it also tells you what is going wrong, how serious it looks, and what to do about it this week.

Every answer runs through several independent checks. When those checks disagree, Clover says so on the result instead of picking one and sounding certain.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

Identify a plant from a photo
Get the botanical name, the common name, and the family it belongs to.

Diagnose a plant that looks unwell
Add a photo and a line about what you are seeing. Clover gives you the likely cause, whether it points to a pest, a disease, or a watering mistake, how urgent it is, and the steps to take.

Follow a care plan
Watering, light, feeding, and the warning signs to watch for next.

Keep a care schedule
Set a watering and feeding rhythm for each plant. The Care tab shows what is due today and what is coming this week, and you can mark things done as you go.

Track your plants over time
Save a diagnosis to a plant and build up a photo history, so you can see whether the new leaves came in healthier than the old ones.

Get a care guide
Once Clover knows what a plant is, get its watering, light, humidity, fertilizing and pruning needs, and whether it is toxic to cats and dogs.

Compare with reference photos
See photos of the species Clover identified, on the plant's own screen, alongside the photo history you have built up.

Open the app and use it. There is no email to hand over and no password to forget. You get a free monthly allowance of identifications, diagnoses and care guides, and your plants and their photos stay on your phone.

Clover Pro is an optional monthly subscription. It lifts the monthly limits on identifications, diagnoses and care guides — fair use applies — and adds care reminder notifications on the day a plant's rhythm comes due. Your plants, their rhythms and history stay free.

Clover Pro renews automatically each month until you cancel, and you can cancel any time in your Play Store subscription settings. The price is shown in the app before you subscribe.

A NOTE ON ACCURACY

Clover reads a photo, so it can be wrong, and it tells you as much on every result. For a valuable plant, or one that is struggling, check with a nursery or a specialist before you act on the advice.

What’s new

Care reminders now arrive as notifications — Clover tells you on the day a plant's watering or feeding is due, with a mark-done button on the notification and a follow-up if you miss one.

Notifications are part of Clover Pro, a new optional monthly subscription. Setting rhythms and seeing what's due on the Care tab stay free.

Clover Pro also lifts the monthly limits on identifications, diagnoses and care guides — fair use applies. This update doesn't change your free monthly allowance.
