This is THE best app i have ever downloaded. Im not kidding. Once you learn how to use it....you will wonder how you did without it. No adds in the free version but i want to buy the updated version just to give them my money. Im actually excited about cooking because it makes it so easy to gather recipes, add them to a shopping list, and then make a meal plan. Sooooo awesome!
Ok but has usability issues Five minutes in and what could be a great app is annoying with usability issues. Here is a list I think the developers should work on. I'm going to try to find a way to give developer more info but here are some highlights. No standard means to navigate back a page and no Android back button support. Filers that are near impossible to actually apply and require too many clicks with no visual means to know filter is applied. No support for multiple cooks in one family to automatically share a menu.
Shockingly poor I used the website for months and was quite happy - coming to this app has been a miserable experience. It's not an Android app - it's the mobile site with extra usability problems. It doesn't look or behave like an Android app. The back button quits the whole app most of the time. There's no way to add a recipe from a URL. The steps to add the bookmarklet are absurdly long. I look forward to a Copy Me That app if they ever choose to make one. This is currently worse than just pinning a link to home.
Useful app that needs a better UI (Material Design). The interface is clunky, and adding a recipe from the browser is a pain. It's still useful, just not as useful as the full website. My main annoyance is that the app forces me to log in again almost every time I open it, which is unexpected for an app that's not for my bank.
Useful but would like some improvements Recipe copy is excellent, often times the recipe in a blog is a pain to find. It still takes me too many clicks to get to the shopping list. I don't ever use the in app browser (since I use the cmt feature in my own browser which works great) and it takes up real estate. The back button is still clunky, some pages don't have one and I have to go to the menu again. Editing the shopping list could be simplified-too many buttons/menus. I don't think I can edit something, for example if I misspelled it.
App has become buggy and almost nonfunctional. I love it and it's very useful, when it works. Which lately is never. Was going to purchase the pro version but will not until these issues are addressed.
Back button no longer causes app to exit :) Nicer-looking progress bar and a couple of other fixes.
