Shockingly poor I used the website for months and was quite happy - coming to this app has been a miserable experience. It's not an Android app - it's the mobile site with extra usability problems. It doesn't look or behave like an Android app. The back button quits the whole app most of the time. There's no way to add a recipe from a URL. The steps to add the bookmarklet are absurdly long. I look forward to a Copy Me That app if they ever choose to make one. This is currently worse than just pinning a link to home.
Great idea, poor execution. The back button causes the app to exit. They wrote that in the newest update it doesn't happen anymore... Well, I just uninstalled the app and reinstalled it - and guess what? It's doing exactly same thing! Extremely annoying. Also, today their server was down - both online version and the app weren't working for a while, then the website started working while the app continued to show an empty page. After I reinstalled it, it displayed my content. But now I don't feel that my recipes are safe here... Will have to copy everything to my email - and that's exactly what I was trying to avoid. I asked on their Facebook page how to create a backup - and no response. Guys, you need to provide customer support!
Favorite recipe manager ever. Love the meal planning & shopping list, too! Some features are premium only (eg: recipe scaling, smart merge of items on shopping list), but it's worth it to me, especially compared to how pricey Plan to Eat is and the recipe organization options vs other free apps.
This is THE best app i have ever downloaded. Im not kidding. Once you learn how to use it....you will wonder how you did without it. No adds in the free version but i want to buy the updated version just to give them my money. Im actually excited about cooking because it makes it so easy to gather recipes, add them to a shopping list, and then make a meal plan. Sooooo awesome!
The web app is pretty good, but the major value of this app comes from the web experience. As for this app itself, it has some significant annoyances, starting with not remembering who I am, and requiring me to manually log in every few days (it's not as if it contains super secret information, guys!) Second, I tried to edit a recipe to adjust for "real life", but couldn't figure out how.
Ok but has usability issues Five minutes in and what could be a great app is annoying with usability issues. Here is a list I think the developers should work on. I'm going to try to find a way to give developer more info but here are some highlights. No standard means to navigate back a page and no Android back button support. Filers that are near impossible to actually apply and require too many clicks with no visual means to know filter is applied. No support for multiple cooks in one family to automatically share a menu.
Back button no longer causes app to exit :) Nicer-looking progress bar and a couple of other fixes.
