About this app

Narra turns the web fiction you already read into an audiobook that keeps going.

Open a story in Narra's built-in browser, tap Listen, pick how many chapters you want, and put your phone away. Narra reads the chapter, moves to the next one and carries on with the screen off. Commute, gym, chores, falling asleep: you never have to touch it.

HANDS-FREE, CHAPTER AFTER CHAPTER
• Tap Listen on any chapter you can open yourself
• Choose how many chapters to hear: 10, 20, 50 or the rest of the book - Narra reads them back to back
• Moves to the next chapter on its own and gets the one after it ready
• Stops and tells you when a book ends or a chapter is locked. Narra never gets around a lock
• Resume at the exact sentence where you stopped

KEEPS GOING WITH THE SCREEN OFF
• Background playback with lock-screen and notification controls
• Headset and Bluetooth buttons work; previous and next skip by chapter
• Pauses for calls, then picks up again
• A guided step helps stop your phone's battery saver from cutting Narra off

NATURAL OFFLINE VOICES
• Use your phone's own voices, or download a natural voice once (about 20 MB) and listen with no connection
• Narra checks your phone and only offers voices that keep up
• Speed from 0.5x to 3x, plus pitch
• Sleep timer with a gentle fade

LISTEN OFFLINE
• Download chapters ahead and listen on a plane or underground (20 chapters free, unlimited with Pro)
• Wi-Fi only downloads, and automatic clean-up of chapters you have heard

FIX HOW NAMES ARE SAID
• Long-press any word and choose how it should sound
• Fixes for one book or for every book
• Made for stories full of invented names and cultivation terms

READ ALONG
• The current sentence is highlighted and the page follows the voice
• Tap any sentence to jump there

YOUR LIBRARY
• Save the stories you follow, see where you left off, continue in one tap
• Check for new chapters with one pull
• Bookmarks and history in the browser
• Back up your library to a file

NARRA PRO
Everything above is free. Narra Pro adds:
• HD voices - richer, more natural narration
• Dialogue voice - a second voice reads the words inside quotes
• Save as audio - keep chapters as audio files
• Unlimited offline downloads (free keeps 20 chapters)
• Extra themes: Midnight, Signal and Paper
• Automatic daily backup to your Google account
• No ads
Pro is a monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime unlock.

ADS-LIGHT
Free users see a small banner on the library and settings screens and can choose to watch a short ad for an hour of HD voices. Narra never shows an ad while it is reading to you, on the player or the lock screen, or inside the browser.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No account and no sign-up
• Your library, history and settings stay on your phone
• Narra only connects to the sites you open, to download voices you choose, and for ads in the free version

ABOUT CONTENT
Narra hosts no content - you choose the sites you read. It is a browser with a voice: you listen to pages you can already open, with your own access. Narra does not download locked or paid chapters and does not provide, copy or share any stories. Please respect each author's and site's terms.
