About this app

Resume Builder makes a CV on your phone and exports it as a PDF. There is no
account, nothing is uploaded, and the whole app works with no connection.

WHY THE PDF IS PLAIN, ON PURPOSE

Most CVs are read by software before a person sees them. An applicant tracking
system pulls the text out of the PDF and tries to work out which part is a job
title and which part is a date.

Two-column templates — the kind with a coloured sidebar — break that. A PDF has
no reliable reading order across columns, so the sidebar gets interleaved into
the body and the result is unreadable to the software doing the sorting. The
applicant is never told.

This app makes one column, top to bottom, in real selectable text. No sidebar,
no icons, no photo, no text baked into an image. It is plainer than the templates
you will see in the screenshots of other apps, and that is the point.

DATES THAT BEHAVE LIKE DATES

A role here has a start and, if it has finished, an end. Leave the end off and it
says Present — because the app knows the role is still held, not because you
typed the word.

That one decision means your roles sort newest first on their own, the app can
show how long each one lasted without you working it out, and it can tell you
when an end date is before its start instead of printing it.

If you only know the year, say so, and the CV prints years. The app never fills
in a month you did not choose.

SEVERAL CVS, WHICH IS THE WHOLE POINT

Tailoring your CV per application is the advice everybody gives and nobody
enjoys. Duplicate a resume, change two bullet points, export, send. The next
application starts from whichever version fits it.

WHAT IT DOES

• Contact block, summary, experience, education, skills, projects,
certifications, and your own custom sections
• Drag-free reordering — move any section or any entry up or down
• Bullet points per role, kept as bullets rather than a wall of text
• Export a PDF to anywhere on your phone, or share it straight into an email
• Save a copy of everything to one file, and put it back on your next phone
• Light and dark themes

WHAT IT DELIBERATELY DOES NOT DO

• No account, no sign-in, no cloud, no share link. A CV is the most identifying
document most people own — your full name, address, phone number, email and
every employer you have had.
• No photo. It is unlawful to consider one in several countries, most parsers
discard it, and adding it would mean asking for access to your photos.
• No AI writing. That would need a server and it would put your employment
history into somebody's logs.
• No import from a PDF or from LinkedIn. A wrong parse quietly damages your own
record of your career.

PRIVACY

Your resumes are stored on this phone and nowhere else. The app has no server.
Android cloud backup is switched off for it, so nothing is copied to Google
Drive either — which means uninstalling the app deletes your resumes, so use
Save a copy before you change phones.

The app shows ads. The only data that leaves your device is what Google AdMob
needs to show them, and it never includes anything you typed.

What’s new

First release.

A resume builder that works with no account and no connection, and exports a PDF
software can actually read.

One column, real text, no photo, no sidebar. Two-column templates have no
reliable reading order inside a PDF, so the systems that read most CVs first get
them wrong.

A role has a start and an optional end, so Present is a state rather than a word
you typed. Roles sort newest first and durations are worked out.

Keep several resumes and duplicate one to tailor it.
