About this game

Downwell is a curious game about a young person venturing down a well in search of untold treasures with only his Gunboots for protection. Make your way further and further down into the darkness filled with nasty creatures and mysterious secrets to collect the spectacular red gems scattered about the rocks. Step into precariously placed shops and buy some helpful items or level up between levels to battle well-dwelling monsters and uncover hidden caves filled with riches and relics. No two trips down the well are ever the same!

The Amazing Gunboots - The fashionable and lethal Gunboots allow players to unleash a torrent of firepower on the nasty creatures dwelling in the well and slow your decent with each shot.

Unique Weapons & Items - Get different weapons, shop for peculiar items and obtain powerful upgrades that all stack and affect the way you play!

A New Adventure Every Time - Each level in Downwell is procedurally generated, so no two trips down the well are ever the same providing a fresh new adventure each time!

Ratings and reviews

Fast paced and easily repayable experience makes this very enjoyable. However, the hitbox for the shoot button is way too large, and the movement keys are far too small. Not being able to finely adjust the positions of the two make it difficult and clunky to control the character. It would be a great improvement to have an option to place the buttons in a section below the game so they don't block the vision directly below you

I love this game and have purchased it on other platforms but this app is not great. I can't tell you how many times I've died either because I push the shoot button and nothing happens or when I push the shoot button it registers as me moving the cursor. The frame rate drops to a screeching hault when you're damaged and sometimes the app will randomly freeze and crash at the end of levels as well. I love the game but this app needs work.

This is amazing! After several months, I managed to beat this. It is tons of fun. I do have a complaint aboout the controls. Sometimes, I press a button and it doesn't register. Other times, let go of the jump/shoot button, and have my other thumb on one of the move buttons, but it actually shoots. Oh, and sometimes it freezes in the level transitions. And the Timeout upgrade plays funny with the boss :P But, other than that, it absolutely rocks. <3
